One room only have exactly one perfect view point , or you will see the scene is so wirely folded or splited. This is a pity for such a good System.

fhell ak the sweetspot is in the middle of the table. If you reach for the joystick you're automatically in the right spot with your head. The other isers are close enough to the sweet spot that they are not bothered by a little offset.

So can we make a fps game pleasuring mulity players waking around the room?
@MaartenvanGrinsvenVisionaiR3D6 жыл бұрын
fhell ak this system was developed to assist in commercial activities and acts more as a communication device. There are certain limits on the system to make sure no one gets nauseous. People who get sick are not going to buy anything. For multiplayer fps, other systems might be more suitable. Keep a lookout for our next system ;)

Thanks for this review. So the STEM system was providing positional head tracking for your DK1? How did you find this part of the experience? Was it comfortable to use, did it feel accurate? How does it compare to the DK2's optical HMD tracking?
@samihamouri9 жыл бұрын
people still use DK1 ?

I really appreciate this review.. So great to finally hear a non-biased well spoken & detailed account of the STEM system. My thoughts after watching the video 1.) the Stem sensor blocks are HUGE ! really really big... :( 2.) I wonder how heavy the grip is with sensor block loaded ? 3.) Is there a wrist leash location point ? I'd hate to drop the hand controller

Grifta project confirms what I think about stem design... it SUCK ! www.kickstarter.com/projects/1384390939/grifta-morphing-gamepad?ref=video
@UlulaSilvia9 жыл бұрын
I am talking about "DESIGN / ERGONOMIE". wrong design : 1 - thumbstick is centered and buttons are around the thumstick 2 - if the stem module is not amovable, why do keep their double grip design ? 3 - no amovable battery like xbox gamepad They show us only 1 model prototype and the delay between feedback user and release is so small that I doubt they could do any change.

Very nice video. I've been looking forward to seeing this type of thing for the STEM. It seems to have a lot of potential

a cylinder shaped room would work better I think, although the cube looks good.
@MaartenvanGrinsvenVisionaiR3D6 жыл бұрын
Collin Bru a cylinder would just make it mote expensive and more difficult to project sharp at the edges. Most architecture has straight walls anyway. And it os perfectly possible to display a curved wall on the simulation cube

I realise my reply is 2 years later, but the website is down. Did you migrated? Is your system still going on? New developments or plans? I really like to know. I am a media student now researching different ways of immersion for my thesis.

why you don't put the projector outside of walls?
@MaartenvanGrinsvenVisionaiR3D6 жыл бұрын
Mauricio Reyes here you need less room and the projectors are fixed to the walls. Its so stirdy that you could bump into the system and you won't have to realign the projectors.

Very cool but 2 suggestions: - Have a person read the script rather than using this computer generate voice whihc is somewhat disturbing. - Edit out the images of the people moving around in their chairs. This looks awkward and seems to be a design flaw. Why wouldn't they just turn their heads to see other screens?

Very nice Maarten! The experience is great every time I enter the Simulation Cube. Now with Google maps implemented, as well as real-time editting, the simulation cube has to be going sky-high!
