20 years ago we hauled tarped lumber out of Dryden, ear falls, blue lake , Winnipeg , delivered all over the Us. We hauled tarped white pine, tarped mahogany from port of Baltimore to Marvin windows in Warroad mn .

I’m assuming there is a very particular way of folding your tarps after use? So that when you use them again, they come undone perfectly.

Hi Mark, my brother and I participated in this Wreaths Across America video. At the time, someone interviewed my Uncle Jim. He was 88 and had his Seabees hat on and was interviewed beside his brother's grave. I've never seen it posted or on the Prime Inc video. Did you film that? Do you know who else might have it?

I wanted to do flatbed at first, but climbing up on top of the load to tarp is what made me decide not to. Going to do tanker now.
@jerryporter1194 Жыл бұрын
OK I am a flat bed driver 13 years a few things I see wrong your folding the rear flap incorrectly it should be under the sides for aerodynamic they even did a cut jump with it correct but didn't take the screw up out and also you NEVER face the hooks on bungies outward it will rub holes in tarp you always hook them away from the tarp look at the flap job on rear at first this is supposed to be educational COME ON PRIME TEACH THEM CORRECTLY DO BETTER !!!!!!!!
@fletcherwilliams40459 ай бұрын
what are you talking about. The tarp is folded correctly and aerodynamic. Are you looking at the wrong end? The bungies are facing outward as well as you dont want holes in the tarps or freight. SMH

I want to see some tricks on how to tarp up a load like this during 40mph winds. That must really separate the men from the boys.
@kriskelley89829 ай бұрын
It takes teamwork. I've had to do it many times in Fletcher, OK. All the drivers have to work together to get it done.

I assume you’ve figured it out, but in case you haven’t: Throw straps over your load and don’t tighten them down all the way. You want about 10 inches of play in the strap. (you can use for securement or just so you can get the tarps on in the wind). Roll your tarp out underneath the straps. Get down and tighten the winches so you have 5-6 inches of play. Back on top of the load, let your tarp sides down. Climb down and bungee as normal. The wind may flap the tarp, but it can’t blow it off because the straps aren’t letting it create enough lift. Remove straps or (since the wind is obviously problematic) tighten them for extra securement. Wyoming 60mph wind approved.

When the access are together how do you slide the rear one back?
@Sxrew Жыл бұрын
Same process. Truck brake applied. Trailer brake released, providing air to the Trailer. Go to the box and turn the valve to the unlocked position and release the pins and lock the axle. (If you have a stepdeck you will need to turn the second valve to raise the rear of the trailer for wheel clearance.) Then reverse until you feel resistance from the locked axle. Set your truck brake. Go to the box and turn the valve to the locked position. If your pins aren't fully locked then give the trailer a gentle rock back and forth and check to confirm they aren't stuck. Check both sides for safety.

Why not spend the extra 1/2 a second and hook the straps properly instead of to the rub rail? Not only does this leave the straps unprotected but it also reduces the working load limit of the strap, which is 5,400 lbs because it’s now hooked to a 2,000 lbs WLL light-duty aluminum rub rail.

The rubrail has a working load limit of 6600 pounds. You can find this information under the rubrail of the trailer along with the working load limit of the tie downs and chain up techniques

You are tarping in a nice climate controlled environment and your tarp looks very clean I'm willing to venture out and say you're not your tarp is going to be filthy ass dirty and your bungees may even become tangled. My last question is how do you get the tarp on top of that load did you do it yourself or was it put up there by a machine. Nice video though
