I think, based on this video, there appeared to be LOT of cowardice, ineptitude, and delays caused by the top French commanders.

Hitler was an arrogant overly confident greedy idiot. He had a huge part of europe under his grasp. he more than doubled germanies land and gained all the resources they offer. he could have stopped there and Germany would be the greatest super power. it still baffles me how Deutschland went from the definitive strongest wealthiest nation to being the weakest. the biggest fall.

Although in Hine site the Arch Duke not GTF was a stupid but for a moment imagine if he made it to the hospital new papers spreading the news that the future kiser went to see the wounded both his military guard and the Bosnian civilians caught in the blast, weather intentionally or not it would be brilliant PR that he cares for all peoples of the empire even the ones chucking bombs at him but sadly a wrong turn and A-hole went to a sandwich shop started the worst war in human history

I'm glad you mentioned the USSR's involvement in the war however, I think their declaration of war had more to do with the surrender of Japan more than is mentioned by a so many people. When the Soviet Union declared war on Japan they of course invaded Manchuria which was under japanese occupation at the time. It was known as operation 'August Storm' or more formerly as the Manchurian Strategic Offensive. It took less than two weeks for the Red Army to completely overrun the Japanese army and completely control Manchuria. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) it was the largest amount of land ever captured by an invading army in such a short amount of time and I believe that the successes of the Red Army to completely crush the Japanese army in such a short amount of time was one of the leading persuasions of surrender. Japan had been debating in around 37 or 38 to invade the USSR far east but they didn't even have the logistical capability to really even defeat them in the border wars that they had with them at the time. Japan never actually had the ability to really go up against a formidable military ever during the war whether it be the United States or the USSR. Japan dug it's own grave as soon as it declared war against China, if not beforehand

France fought as well as it was able to. Germany had a lot of practice with blitzkreig before France had to fight. Keep in mind, France declared war on Germany, as the opening move.

Such a mischaracterization of what happened in the East. Massive amounts of Ukrainians & Balts enlisted in the Waffen SS, and were often the most responsible for executions, as they used the Nazi occupation as cover to target political enemies.

Also the reson the centre was so poor a check against nazis, was that they were not threatened by hitlers policies in fact the flat tax rate would reduce tax on the wealthy and raise it on the poor and middle class. Being wealthy themsleves meant it was a positive. I think also because they are a broad brush party being in the centre that the kind of rhetoric the nazis use they would flirt with from time to time. There ignorance on politics meant that they didn't understand or know what they wanted to do and hand waved it off when told.

The first lend/lease shipments from the US to the Soviet Union left the US east coast in August of '41. The US did not wait until we were at war with Nazi Germany to send aid to the USSR. Hitler declaring war on the US probably didn't effect the course of lend/lease, if anything, it may have indeed reduced it as the US's need for equipment increased with that declaration.

1).Hitler should have concentrated his forces on capturing Moscow and overrunning all the Russian defense plants. Instead, he split his forces into three parts, wanting to do too much at any one target. 2). He should have never declared war on the U.S., because without that declaration, our people wouldn't have so enthusiastically agreed to go after the Germans, and would have been content to just being a weapons supplier. Instead, he declared war on us, to no clear (at the time) purpose. 3). Hitler never took the time to find out what he was up against. He was later quoted as saying to the leader of one of his allies that if he'd known the Russians had 460 divisions, he would never have attached.

This video is nonsense, Hitler never had the numbers to take over the Soviet Union just like Japan never had the numbers to take over China, Hitler would’ve been overstretched like Japan in China, the further they pushed into the Soviet union only sealed their fate Germany could never keep up with Russia, both logistically and from a manufacturer perspective the only way I could see Germany actually winning is if they dropped a atomic bomb on Moscow something like that would push the Soviets onto the negotiation table. no nukes no victory in the Soviet Union.

This is the best "What If" about WW2 I have watched. The narrator gets right to the point. He simplifies the situation so all can understand what was at stake. The outcome was a close call. Germany COULD have conquered the whole of Europe. Don't kid yourself that it had to happen the way it did. Germany's greatest weakness was an amateur strategist at the top. Name was Hitler.

came down to leadership and drive. At the start of the war, the German military leadership, especially the field generals were unparalleled. That along with a unified drive and goal helped Germany.

After early victories during Operation Barbarossa, Hitler could have said: "We have liberated you, Ukraine." He would have had an intrepid people behind him to knock out Russia for good. Instead, Hitler murdered everyone in sight in Ukraine. What a nasty, stupid strategy.

WW I trench warfare mentality. They built the impressive Maginot Line, stuffed it with weapons and men, and waited for an attack. Germany simply went around it through Belgium and the Netherlands and headed a short distance to Paris.

One of the key reasons Nazi Germany lost is Hitler did not keep any of his agreements, when he signed the non-aggression pact with Stalin, he broke the one he had with Japan. So, Japan attacking Pearl Harbor, Hitler declaring war on America, Japan signing a non-aggression pact with Stalin their goose was cooked, it allowed Stalin to free up more troops.

Taking Moscow would likely have done as much for the Germans as it did for Napoleon. The Soviets would've burned it and deny any use to the Germans. The Germans drive south made sense. Oil and grain fields were more valuable to Germany than a remnant of a city.

Whats sad is that the allies learned almost nothing from Versailles, and implemented similar policies aside from economic austerity. This is one reason why the social fabric of the west is fsilling apart. The allied propoganda of "you are bad and shouod feel bad" has come full circle in the form of toxic wokeness crying about "colonialism" while cheering illegal immigration to western countries. The cognitive dissonance can clearly be traced back to these mechanations.
