What if I don’t like red dragon but like steel division

Tbf the last 2 dlc divs are pretty balanced if I say so myself I think if anything is unbalanced they will fix it pretty quickly

When playing wargame i can absolutely tell it has a better design at least for trying to balance things (even if it certainly isnt) but warno just FEELS better to play. Not sure why. I dont think its just quality of life features. Maybe I just really vibe with the faster pace? Idk.

If it makes you feel any more hopeful, Belgians get their kwn troops in army general, so they might give us the campagins as an incetive to buy the dlcs

The battalions in WARNO Army General are based on Real World organizations, which are separated into their subsequent companies and platoons, so the separation makes sense and is intuitive for anyone familiar with how militaries are organized. This is unlike Red Dragon which had fictionally organized formations. I would understand who this would be confusing to those who do not know real world TO&Es, to which the Red Dragon method would seem easier.

I think belgium wasnt added to mp in release because they simply werent ready yet. If you look at Single player there's 1 ag campaign featuring belgium as a main protagonist however the belgian units are not really fleshed out/refined enough so i think they pushed them to be added to the DLC which is good for them bc the AIFV/ypr will be added as a fully new IFV discount bradley (25mm goes tkk tkk tkk)

I do enjoy playing another eugen classic. (I hate this game)

Turn off in the setting auto create tac battle group. That way your unit wont be grouped at the start. That feature really succ as it can make your tank drive so weirdly

Yes, the airland battle or Red dragon had perfect campaign, these overcomplicated campaigns of Steel Division and now Warno, are just boring. I don't get it, airland battle had a really awesome campaign aswell. That said, stop the whining about DLC and review the game itself, not what you think it should have, but the game as it IS. I found it annoying to have to sit through 10 minutes of DLC whining.

I have a ton of hours in Warno (like at least 500-600) mostly in MP but simply don’t play anymore because its not fun. Eugen’s ‘realism-first’ philosophy sucks the fun out of so many aspects of the game, and the game just feels really sluggish to play. Units don’t feel responsive or fun to use. The lack of content this many years in is a problem as well. Army General is a really cool idea (strategic map with tactical battles) but the campaigns are wayyyyyy too big and take too long and are doing the same fights over and over against mediocre AI. It’s a huge shame because the fundamentals of a great game are there, but fundamentally it really feels like they kept being at a crossroads between ‘fun’ and ‘pseudo-realistic sim’ and kept choosing right instead of left.

"modern" I just want to point out that between SD2's campaign and WARNO's there's a 45 year gap. ('44 for SD2, '89 for WARNO). The setting of warno is now 35 years old. Calling the Cold War "modern" is silly.

I quite enjoy WARNO as a game, but the reality is it's a proof of concept for the live-service model Eugen is going to be using in the future. By the time WARNO's DLCs are almost all out, late 2025 or early 2026, they will release the next game in "early access", charging full price, while still milking what they can from the old game. The premise being that multiple DLC drops a year for multiple games is more profitable than releasing larger, complete games with no DLC.

31:10 They can be separated though? There's a little Dissolve button on the bottom left of the unit icons of the group. It separates all units in a group into separate, single units. They can't be regrouped though.
