So I am super late to this, and I am a new to this kind of thing. But theoretically if you had your cables touching the right debug ports, would this work without soldering? Probably not (because why else would you show us you need to do it) but I am pretty sure I wont be able to get my hands on that equipment any time soon.

You don't need to solder, you can use alligator clips and other things , just need a contact

Hi , I upgrade my game watch, change the flash to 16M, are you able to turn g&w on immediately after that? I plug in the usb-c cable and pressed the on/off button but it does not work, the screen was black. Is it normal ? Do I have to use stlink to burn the system before I could turn it on?

I unlocked my GW and able to flash original FW back into the upgraded memory chip. However, I'm not able to put retro-go in it. Which guide did you use? I found some guides online but none of the work. I can't even install it with the original memory chip.

ok that is one way ,but when you do not use capton tape it is better use low melt solder to get the chip out

@@RetroResinCA Ah, so you think that might be it? I screwed up and later realized I should have used a finer point solder iron. I think the one I used was too thick and I just soldered the points together. Thanks for that tip. I will try that!

Great video but hope you can help me. I unlocked the console following the first few steps called it a night and turned everything off. Tonight I picked up at where I had stopped and went through the rest of the steps and finally got some roms, but when I type make -j8 flash I get the following message 'make: *** No rule to make target 'flash' . Stop. Any idea where I'm going wrong here?
