I have listened to several versions of this, including the recommendations of some of the commenters on here, and I stand by my opinion that this version by Jonas Kaufmann is the best by a long way. So much expression and warmth in his voice. It's just exquisite.

I have heard at least 20 versions of this, but this one is the most magnificent. I have never heard anyone interpret the tenor role the way Jonas Kaufmann does, and it's a revelation. I felt as though I have never really heard the tenor solo before! Wonderful!
