If this helps: for the purposes of this video, the benchmark for “heavy-handed” cultural politics is The Boys. The Boys is a very obvious political allegory where certain characters represent MAGA and other political trends, and there’s a lot more explicit LGBT intimacy. The Acolyte is very, very different from that-a million times more muted, where it’s commentary is much more below the surface. Comparing the two shows is like apples and oranges.

I do believe there are remnants of Nietzches philosophy in star wars but I'd argue they're mostly related to vader, palpatiene, and the sith. In star wars the force is a representation of good and evil/ morals not a state beyond it. However the sith the detailed ones atleast often represent these ubermensch ideals. Not only do most siths go through a transformation be it externally or internally they often have a long search for power. The sith are the one trying to move past the confines of morality not force sensitives in general

Your point does a lot of justice to Nietzsche and his overall vision for the Übermensch-for instance, Nietzsche was very much against compassion, which would align more with the Sith. As a counterpoint, the Jedi emphasis on detachment is very notable and is almost a morality unto himself. Yoda, especially ESB Yoda, comes across as ambivalent to what is going on in the galaxy and more interested in being a hermit and withdrawing from events. “Above it all” is a superficial way to put it, but it does seem a Jedi attitude in certain situations where other characters are in more of a moral crisis.

Hmm. You could say the Mandalorian mural is the mirror of Great Scourge of Malachor for Jedi and Sith. The same could be said about Mandalore vs Death Watch during The Clone Wars, it mirrors New Republic and First Order.

Thank you for taking the time to write. That's a fascinating observation. The idea of parallel development among the various foundational worlds like Mandalore, Coruscant, and Korriban, as well as the mirroring of mainstream Mandalore vs Death Watch and the Jedi vs Sith, are especially interesting if we consider galactic history as shaped by The Ones (Mortis Gods). Appreciate your insight.

I like your idea connecting Star Wars to ideas found in Nietzsche. But I think it would be a better arguement if you drew the connection between Star Wars and Dostoevsky instead of Nietzsche. Anakin in the prequels is analogous to Raskolnikov in Crime and Punishment (see Raskolnikov’s article on Extraordinary Men) but Luke is like Alyosha in The Brothers Karamazov. He is forced to contend with the Karamazov (Skywalker) w/in himself while still try to save his family who have fallen into their base “Karamazov-ness”

Thanks for taking the time to write. The epic scope of Star Wars indeed lends itself well to comparisons with Russian literature. Your insights are impressive, and I'll definitely take deeper look into these connections. Appreciate you sharing this perspective!

There is a disturbance in the force and it is called the Acolyte ! I'm sorry but ahsoka has space whales and now Witches ? Sounds to me like Disney was snorting too much of Tinkerbell's pixie dust

This has nothing to do with Anakin. The creator wanted to obliterate everything George Lucas built. This is JUST the director ruining the actual lore of star wars.

I think maybe that sith dude could have used the force to create those children but then the witches ran and hid and they were hiding from the Jedi and that one sith guy. The sith could be plagueis or plaguesis master. The twins are like the anakin prototype.

Anakin Skywalker didn't birth from fatherless in a womb by the will of someone like here with witches but by the will of Force itself. Anakin Skywalker is an answer of Force to Darth Plagueis attempts to create a life with a Force, a counterbalance. Force is like: "You want to break Force cycle to create a life to destroy Jedi? Let me fix you by doing the same thing aganist you (him and his Palpatine Apprentice) and people equally disgusting as you (majority of Jedi)".

I forget how few people have read Darth Plagueis. Sure, not canon, but it was written right before Disney took over and is the best material we have on this topic until it is contradicted or confirmed by canon. Acolyte seems to confirm it more than contradict it.

@Cailus3542 2 ай бұрын
Given the timeframe, I'm guessing that the big twist will be that Plagueis created Palpatine. The Force responded with Anakin sometime later. It would explain a few things. That's a big divergence from the book, of course, but it does fit somewhat.

@@mult1versefans Its not doing too well now is it? When a successful franchize is used to push a political unpopular narrative nothing goes well... nothing. As all that Disney does now a days, I expect it to be a disaster. That is not Starwars. The only one that understands it is George Lucas and they want to burry his creation.
