They stay in the center lane especially in high traffic because even 15 miles down the road nonCDLs and some CDLs make it very difficult for them to move from right to left for instance to take a left exit. They would rather have you irritated that they are in the middle lane and only fight one or two lanes of drivers to move over to the left to exit than to fight two or three lanes to get over. Most drivers see like you can easily spot a new driver and when that signal goes on they speed up so they can’t get over and a lot of times block the exit so they have to either miss the exit or block traffic lanes to get to the exit. I’m sure you’ve seen this over the years

My mom says reefer dry van are for the ladies, she does reefer again, 10 year experience. Flatbedders are usually the good looking truckers that don't have swollen legs and don't drag their feet inside Love's.

And then a flatbedder said that reefer is harder. Reefer is balls busting, but this is truly hard work. This is not for those who say "I wanna close the trailer door and hit the road".

Well, I certainly wouldn't try jousting with oncoming traffic. Like you did, slow down and activate hazards.

I love it! I don't have to tell you a thing... you do it exactly the same as I do. It's little details like this that makes all the difference, especially when you roll that tarp out over a tall load and you know exactly which end has the flap. Not much worse than having to get it all turned around. Well, falling off the load would be worse, but I hadn't tried that... yet!

Your way is the best way to attach the strap to the rubrail, but we have been instructed by our safety director that per DOT, the strap cannot be outside of the rubrail. So, you can drop the hook part behind the rubrail, then under and back up the outside and attach to the top of the rubrail. But, when I do it that way, the rubrail cuts the strap where it is attached to the hook. So I just drop the hook behind the rubrail and let it hook the bottom edge of the rubrail. It's stupid I know, but goverment always knows best right. Always put a half twist in unless the load is pretty low. Sometimes you have to make sure there is a half twist across the top of the load too. If you are hauling something that could be abrasive to your strap put a half twist across the top. Or if you are hauling something that might be scratched or damaged in some way by a vibrating or flapping strap put that half twist across the top as well.
