Ma'am, your explanation is impressive and fluent....I had some doubts though- 1. Why did the author didn't bother to memorize a single word of what she spoke? 2. Why did she herself sind when her grandson arrived from University, as she considered singing to be the work of prostitutes and beggers?

Thank you for your kind words @shauryavardhansingh I appreciate your questions. They are worth asking. 1. He didn't memorize because he was a small child and they appeared monotonous to him. 2. When she opposed music being taught in school she expressed her view point and in those days if you happen to talk to your great grandparents if possible you will understand that singing was considered below dignity to repute classes. On her grandson's arrival she did sing songs. What kind of songs were they? Were they songs that would presumably be sung by prostitutes? Old ladies usually sit together and sing religious songs or as mentioned in the story 'she sang of the home-coming of warriors'.
