Hey comrades, my life is at the moment at a turning point and I need your advice. I have some more days to apply for university, and don't know which study course I shall take. In the future I want to contribute to the revolution in some way or another. That's my only wish. The question now: Which study course would you recommend me attend at university? I have thought about political sciene, sociology, (cultural and social) anthropology, psychology and philosophy, economics, but recently I thought of history as well. But what do you guys think, what's the best study course for someone who wants to devote him-/herself to the revolution? Thanks for your help! Have a nice day :)

You argue that he conflates feminism with postmodernism, but I believe Hicks is referencing Marcuse who said that collectives like feminism can check the dominant power structures. The black power movement is another example of this. So to say Hicks did bad research or was willfully wrong here I think is disingenuous. I think you're making a big deal out of a minor passage. I think it's at least a partially valid interpretation of Lyotard to conclude that Hussein was a victim and spokesperson of American imperialism because the US fed Iraq when it did what the US wanted, and starved Iraq when it didn't. I'm not sure if you noticed, but you are deconstructing his text as a postmodernist does. A better way to critique would be a more dialectic approach, but that probably wouldn't get as many likes and follows.

Yeah FBI, White supremacists. That's what we all worry about. The FBI, who when they look for someone trying ton kidnap a governor has to filter through their informants that out number the terrorists. There were more feds at Elohim City than terrorists, and the Oklahoma City bombing still happened, or maybe that's why it happened. The same feds that don't investigate terrorists that spend months burning cities and causing billions of dollars of damage, but investigate people that on January 7th never even entered the Capitol, even after the police and feds took down barriers and let people in. The Federal Supremacists seem to be much more of a threat to everyone.

Yet another person who doesn’t KNOW about AI running locally on PC. Correction, editing, photobashing, control of composition, poses, lighting, etc. everything is already existing in AI space if you do it without cloud services. Artists already using AI to their advantage and people who use that software on above average cases are seeing the limitations of going only with AI.

Just admit it: postmodernism was constructed, entirely intentionally, as a desperate attempt to save socialism/communism by dismantling the capitalist, Christian-ethos West at its core, nothing more. There is no "truth"? - piss off, that's puerile.

It's hilarious to hear the 1919 socialist revolution described as a "counter revolution." I'm sure if the SPD leadership had survived the war they would contend that this was the counter revolution, and they'd be right. How someone can describe a socialist civil war this way is hilarious to me.

The fetishization of revolutionary violence is generally a problem with radicals of all stripes. Violence is only to be used out of necessity or as a last result, but many seem to completely reject reformism or even political organizing in favor of revolutionary violence.

I am a game developer and I consider games to be art*. There are many artistic elements that go into making a game. Examples are modelling, music, textures, storywriting, and much more. But this is not what I am referring to: I am reffering to a) the art of combining all this art into a cohesive entity that works and b) the vision of the game, mostly related to the feelings the artist wants the players to feel and the thoughts the artists wants the players to reflect over. a and b are similar, but not identical. A notable example of this distrinction is the game "The Beginner's Guide", where visually much of the game is not very appealing and not very cohesive, but all this plays into the vision of the game. What I see in AI art is the potential of democratisation** of a and b. Because it allows game designers to create art in the abstractions of a and b, even if they do not have the capital to pay for artists and their work. My point is that art can be done at different levels of abstractions, and even if you use AI art in an unartistic manner, it still have great potential for art in higher levels of acstractions. *: It is of course an idealised version of games that I am taking about. For many games (in particular non-indie games), games are not a medium for an artist to express themselves, but rather a means of making money. Loot boxes, dlcs/expansions, mathematical modelling of player's behavior, and much more are all used to manipulate the player in different ways. Whether it is to keep their attention, make them use their money, or just shove dopamine into the player's brains at exactly the correct intervals to keep them hooked. It is all done to make profits, at the expense of so many things and is very predatory to the players. Not to mention the moral values, habits, and cultural understanding that is shaped by these games at large scale. Games in the current industry are usually incredibly immoral and these are not what I am talking about. **: I also need to point out that this idealised way of looking at art is fundamentally anti-capitalist and is assuming a non-capitalist society. Because right now we are experiencing the same thing as always happens with automisation: layoffs. We can potentially create many more things given this new form of automasation, but instead it is used to funnel capital into capitalists at the expense of the workers.

this is not a new phenomenon, I remember back in the 90s, they were trying to emulate the 50s and 60s as well, they thought it was cool, nirvana shot one of their music videos in black and white as if it was an old Beatles song and movies like pulp fiction for example, or even philosophers like Nietzsche or Rousseau thinking things were better back in ancient Greek times than they were in their own time.

All throughout history you find people constantly longing for the Past just like that, thinking everything was better and trying to rebuild something long gone, or trying to emulate someone. There must be something about it, such as Humans being naturally afraid of the future, their legacies and what they build, to the point we seek solace in the past. It can't just be purely nostalgia and good memories from Childhood.

In my country, Japan, two groups that split off from the same organization, the Revolutionary Communist League National Committee and the Revolutionary Communist League Revolutionary Marxist Faction, engaged in a bloody conflict that left over 60 people dead and thousands injured. This is a bit like Monty Python, which is hilarious, but unfortunately, it is not known abroad, since most of the literature has not been translated into English. lol The RCLNC also fired mortar rounds at a summit meeting of industrialized nations in Tokyo in 1986.They are, to put it mildly, more interesting than the JRA. Incidentally, both organizations are still active today, and both have some 4,000 members.

I am likely going to piss some people off, but I don't really care. I don't believe "terrorism" is a real thing. What people call "terrorism" is simply people being fed up with systemic incompetence, in response rebelling against the system violently. It's the result of the foolish and oppressive manipulation of the civilians of a nation. In this, i believe calling a movement "terrorism" is reductive and fails to take into consideration what motivated said movement to begin with.

I think when you talk about terrorism, even in the modern context, terrorism refers to the people who are using violence when they are outside of the monopoly. And if that’s the thing, I think people forget about the state because the state signifies that monopoly, but state is saying that it has a legitimate right to For its purpose. I think to put it in better contacts for today. I will ask how is capitalism use that same form of violence to accomplish it means in point the Congo we are OK Israel to bomb innocent civilians because they they might be people who are fighting against capitalist forces capitalist, and neo liberal forces among them. However, the Congo is a direct example of capitalism terrorizing the population in order to keep a monopoly on resources, who sponsors the CIA will have anything to say or all of that that they are doing ter terroristic or are we just gonna say well it’s the empire
