Going good. I'm doing the bodywork this spring. I have done a few test drives and it runs great. Thanks for asking

They are designed to self drain, so like you said its a drainage problem.

Looks like you may need to sharpen your knives too. I have my Grandpa's 46 baler and my Dad said to always run regular twine in them and to keep the knives sharp. But now he said I have some slop in the plunger I need to try to figure out how to shim it. He said there's shims to keep it tight.

I found a 46 this past winter like we had when I was a kid. I got lucky. After sharpening the knifes and clean & grease, it made bales. I hadn't considered using my calipers like you. Thanks for sharing.

Any idea why this one freezes up but the other one doesn’t? We just installed one and this video makes me a bit nervous. Is there gravel at the bottom for it to drain? Maybe dirt got in it? We’re watering pigs and after watching them I’m hoping the dirt off their noses isn’t going to plug the whole thing up!

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I don't really monitor my channel but my daughter said I should reply. This waterer is next to our arena so yes it has a lot of sand. I think the drain holes in the top are bigger than the drain holes at the bottom so it is getting plugged up in the drain tube. When it first froze up I melted the water out of the bowl and pushed the paddle down and water still came out but had no place to drain. A day later it was totally frozen. Yes we installed it correctly with about a foot of gravel at the bottom. This waterer drains much slower than the one in the pasture. Before winter I'm going to pull the entire assembly out and see if I can open up the bottom drain holes to see if I can keep it from freezing this year. I believe they have a new waterer now that drains better.

@@darlingshorsesandhotrods4073I install water lines for city and we put sand around the water lines and we put 57 gravel around the sewer the reason is the sewer can drain through the 56 gravel but the water can’t drain through the sand which helps locate leaks better for the water line.
