Unfortunately, as teacher you are going to have malcontent students. Hopefully you won't have too many of them.

Thanks @The Crimson White for posting this video about affirmative action / supreme court. Here are the viewpoints expressed by Supreme Court justices regarding affirmative action. 1) This case is about a group called Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) who sued Harvard College and the University of North Carolina (UNC). They said that these schools were not fair in their admissions process because they were using race as a factor, which they believed was against the law. The law they referred to is the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment*. 2) The Equal Protection Clause is a part of the Fourteenth Amendment that says that every person should be treated equally by the law, no matter their race, color, or nationality. The SFFA believed that by considering race in admissions, Harvard and UNC were not treating all applicants equally. 3) The Court looked at the history of the Fourteenth Amendment and how it has been used in the past. They also looked at how other cases involving race and college admissions were handled. They found that while diversity in a student body can be a good thing, it must be handled in a way that treats all applicants fairly and equally. 4) The Court also looked at the idea of "strict scrutiny*". This is a way for the courts to look at laws to see if they are fair and necessary. If a law or policy is found to be unfair or unnecessary, it may not pass strict scrutiny and could be considered unconstitutional. 5) The Court found that the admissions systems at Harvard and UNC did not pass strict scrutiny. They said that the schools' use of race in admissions was not clear or specific enough, and it resulted in fewer admissions for certain racial groups. They also said that the schools' use of race in admissions seemed to stereotype certain racial groups, which is not allowed. 6) The Court also said that the schools' admissions systems did not have a clear end point. This means that there was no clear plan for when the schools would stop using race as a factor in admissions. This was another reason why the Court said the schools' admissions systems were not fair. 7) The Court decided that the admissions systems at Harvard and UNC were not fair and did not follow the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. They said that the schools' use of race in admissions was not clear, specific, or fair enough to be allowed. 8) However, the Court also said that schools can consider how race has affected an applicant's life. They can look at how an applicant's experiences with their race have shaped them and what they can bring to the school because of those experiences. 9) In the end, the Court decided that the admissions systems at Harvard and UNC were not fair and did not follow the law. They said that the schools' use of race in admissions was not allowed because it was not clear, specific, or fair enough. 10) So, the Court decided that the SFFA was right. They said that Harvard and UNC were not treating all applicants equally in their admissions process, which is against the law. They said that the schools needed to change their admissions systems to be fair to all applicants, no matter their race. *The Equal Protection Clause is a part of the Fourteenth Amendment that says that every person should be treated equally by the law, no matter their race, color, or nationality. *Strict scrutiny is a way for the courts to look at laws to see if they are fair and necessary. If a law or policy is found to be unfair or unnecessary, it may not pass strict scrutiny and could be considered unconstitutional.

After reading some of the comments from years ago I'm still amazed by the amount of hate people can have. Which was something my wife taught me while she was dying. She said that hate is evil. That anger leads to hatred & hatred leads to evil & evil deeds. You don't need that. Leave it alone. If you leave your hatred by the wayside it will not follow you. Which this man that spoke before Saban wanted to go to the NFL. BUT he didn't want to do it to become a great football player. He wanted to do it so he could start a large place that could take in abused & unwanted kids so that they could have a better life. And I'm not sure, but I think Coach Bryant saw the good of creating such a place & helped raise the money for him to do it without him having to play in the NFL. I had always personally thought that those losses to Notre Dame by one & two points was by means of a pay off even though as a child I didn't understand why, I think I do understand now & that it was for a greater good! I could be wrong, & it wouldn't be the first time. But to be honest, I had already heard that same speech that Saban gave. It was the man that spoke before him that touched my heart. Saban's speech is more of a motivation & the man beforehand is more of a spiritual calling to affect people in a positive manner & try to lift them above a sense of degradation that has been instilled in them. Which is truly a noble purpose & I appreciate & applaud the man & his efforts. Oh, and another thing. As far as Woody Hayes goes, this is the only time I've ever heard something positive being said about Woody Hayes. And I'm just going to leave it at that.

I LOVE the part where Saban tells the Bama students that they should be allowed to ask the questions. And follows with "Your NOT the Press so I wouldn't get mad at you!" Frickin classic!!! Ya know, sometimes circumstances rule what we do but not who we are. I fell in love with a lady & married her. But I didn't marry her ONLY because I loved her. I married her because I trusted her. And I also married her because I knew that she was a woman that I could spend the rest of my life with. I had previously been with a woman & we had a child together but I never married her. And although I did trust her at the time, I didn't trust the idea that I could spend the rest of my life with her. And although we had 9 years together, after that 9 years we haven't spoken since. However, my wife, Kim... I met her in October of 2003. We got married October 2,2007. Around the beginning of 2011 she was diagnosed with terminal COPD. She passed away on Christmas Eve of 2015. She spent her last 3 years in a wheelchair cuz she couldn't breath enough to walk. No motorized wheelchair either, I pushed her around for those 3 years. And because they made her switch from Medicaid to Medicare we started having to pay for all of her inhalers. So we ended up homeless cuz I couldn't afford rent & her medications. After she passed away, some of the people that had seen us but didn't really know us had said that they were surprised that I stayed with her the whole time. They didn't realize that I loved her and wanted to be with her, regardless of the circumstances. Much less "How in the world could I possibly leave the woman I love to die alone & unloved?" No way could I ever do that!! Although I can easily accept such a fate for myself, I could not leave her as such. And not long before she passed away she asked me " Why do you stay with me?" And I told her, "you silly girl, don't you see that I love you!" It's been over 8 years now since she passed away. And it was very difficult watching the lady I love waste away to almost nothing in a wheelchair. But at the same time because we were together we had fun together. At the time it was probably the hardest thing that I ever had to do. But now that she is gone... living without her has taken that place.

So much for caring God's creation. Christians don't care about the planet and the environment. Disgusting religion christianity is, no wait, it isn't christianity fault. Its mostly the people in it and the denomination and disrespecting others religions of different countries.

RMP is very accurate. I've had the unfortunate situation multiple times of having only two professors teaching a required course and the good one has a scheduling conflict with another class, so I'm forced to take the class from the poorly rated professor. Every time the reviews have been accurate. When 100 reviews say that the teacher behaves a certain way or formats the class in an unnecessarily difficult manner, they aren't lying.

I like how all of the profs with bad reviews went straight to finding flaws in the grammar and stuff instead of actually self reflecting and accepting the criticism.

It’s troubling how many comments are just leaning one way into it. Sure, read the reviews before you sign up and register, but also understand that not everything people are saying will be honest and that your instructor is a person too with their own issues to deal with. Levy criticism without being harsh.

My programming teachers deducted exam points for every line of code they didn't understand. Apparently they were learning the material concurrently with delivering the (stock) lectures. They never did any independent study. If they only ran the code they were grading, they would have realized its soundness. But nope. So my GPA is in the shitter. The world is run by sheer whim.

if only the universities did surveys and actually took them into account the rate my professor page wouldnt by the exact same trash with the exact same trash teaching i can feel the failed writer turning to a professor to rag on on her students for stupid shit through the screen, anyone who thinks English's is about punctuation and grammar is completely wrong its about the words you put down. hyper obsession with fine details that mean nothing in a vague and unperfect course is a waste of time.
