It's too bad you didn't stop at the swimming pool in Ouray. It's fed and warmed by 'hot springs'. I'm a native of Colorado and just can't seem to stay away. I had a chance to get property in Alaska for almost 'nothing' (a state land grant), but I just couldn't stay away from Colorado. I had another opportunity, in the early 1990's to settle in Germany, but again, couldn't stay away from Colorado. I was born and raised in Denver, but eventually wound up in Grand Junction (just west of Palisade) for the last 20 years.

Wow, I think I might stay there a week. I agree that our mindset is always so go go go. There's no hurry. If you stay a while, you get more of the place and what's going on. Maybe you'll see a moose or bear if you're just silent and being in the moment. I'm so glad I found your channel because this is what it feels like being new to the road. I'm only 6:41 in and I may comment again. Hopefully it spreads your channel to a broader audience.

It's been about 12 years since I was living in Mesa, but i spent plenty of summer camping in the mountains and of course, the Grand Canyon. It gets hot during the day and cools off quickly at sundown. Looking forward to your summer travels.

Next time you're in the Flagstaff area, there's some nice camping on the forest roads (mostly off Rt.3) near Clints Well (Long Valley Work Center), and Bargaman Park. Buck Mountain is nice also.
