I hope everything turns out for the better with your cat. 🤞❤❤❤ I lost one of my cats on June 20th and our family unit doesn’t feel right without him. There’s a big hole in our lives where he should be. And to make it worse he was the one that was more of a lap kitty and would always cuddle me while I was reading. 💔 I also own a copy of Childhood’s End that I haven’t read. If you want to buddy read it at some point, let me know.

Frieren IMO is the best of these. I understand it's hard to find volumes of a manga to read but 1 volume is only like an appetizer and generally not enough to give the full width of what the manga has to offer. You can also check out the anime. It is currently sitting at no. 1 spot on the most popular anime of all time which is insane considering Full Metal Alchemist held that spot for more than a decade. If you like the anime you can continue from there with the manga. Another one I would suggest, something a bit different is Mob Psycho 100. If you can get over ONE's (the mangaka) art (he is a terrible artist, but he's still popular because he is an amazing storyteller), it's one of the most amazing stories in anime/manga. But if you can't get over the drawing, then check out the anime for that too. That is consistently in the conversation for the best anime of the last decade.

Fun idea for a video. The thrift store where I shop has books 5/$1...so my only criteria used to be, "can I see myself ever reading this?"....nowadays, the criteria has changed to "do I want this badly enough to try to cram it into my over-packed shelves?"! I do however love browsing my own shelves when I feel like reading...and more often than not finding many books I don't exactly recall buying...kind of like a cool surprise for myself years later! I absolutely by books based on the cover...! Thanks for sharing your video!

Also for getting manga there are a few official sites and apps like viz media and manga up that you can use but you only get the first 3-4 chapters for free which should be fine for sampling. The only issue is there is only a select few manga on these things so some series the only way your really gonna get it is buying off barnes and nobles or other online stores

I will say vinland saga is not about battles, war, and strategy for the wider story but it takes a while to get there (something like 10 volumes) so if you're not ready for that you can drop it or watch the anime I'll only give 2 recommendations based on things I think you might like Land of the lustrous: You said something about how you liked the use of negative space in manga and this is the king of that. still ongoing at 12 volumes but it's got like only 1 more volume left to go. Girls last tour: This is pretty much my favourite manga ever, a chill story about 2 girls exploring a dead world. 5 volumes quick and easy.

Your video showed up in my feed at an appropriate time. I have a 10 year old daughter that I homeschool. She's an avid reader but hates math and anything physics related. She also thinks she's terrible at math. She's not, but sometimes she needs to go over a new concept twice before understanding the instructions. Then she's off and running.

I know something I struggled with was the different ways of studying the different subjects. Studying math seemed more tedious to me, like it was difficult to make fun. But there are ways to incorporate it into fun activities like baking, sewing, knitting, or woodworking/building things.

I love this video! Flatland has been on my list for some time because my favourite cosmologist, Janna Levin, referred to it in one of her books. She has a novel called Black Hole Survival Guide that I’d recommend in particular, it’s technically non-fiction but she writes so poetically and it has a kind of narrative to it that follows a girl who falls into a black hole. Her love for maths, physics and art absolutely shines through in all of her work and she’s so very eloquent.

What a great topic for a book video! Some essays & stories by Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges, particularly one called The Library of Babel, were strongly influenced by mathematics. His writing is great -- beautiful & strange. I did lol @ "Do you want to be able to build a trellis or not?!" People tend to forget about the practical, daily uses of basic math. Lovely to see one of your cats and your little dog hanging out in the background.
