If you can break 499kt, then you’ll be the fastest turboprop ever built, outpacing even the Tu-95 Bear.

Thank you Mike and Mark for promoting GA aviation and airports. As a veteran of many, many airport fights (Reid Hillview, Fremont, Watsonville, in California and Brunswick Ohio and now looks like Burke Lakefront in Cleveland, please consider iron clad contracts to keep the airport intact, to not have developments encroach on the approaches, be wary of curfews, sound abatement schemes and lawfare to kill off GA. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PROJECT.

You are one hell of a good engineer and pilot. My dad worked for Kelly Johnson from about 1936 in flight test. There is a way to do it and there are ways to have tragedy. Even when all the care that is possible is taken things happen. You just never know.

So you guys have both had near-death experiences ad now you've decided you will now focus on aviation!? Quelle surprise! Did these experiences not cause either of you to reflect on what happens to you after death or what happens to you when you die?! Don't get me wrong, I love your aviation videos but perhaps there's more to life than aviation?

Hey Mike, you are amazing 🤩. I really love this. Please, can I get the architectural plans, or the overall design of this building? Thank you.

I thought I saw a video in my feed the other day that was titled something about scuba diving in the pool. Did that get taken down or am I just going crazy?

I'm in Australia. We don't design for ice, except in about 0.5% of the country, & that's probably a high guess.

Mike has to be the best engineer out there & I'm not even sure he did a degree. If he did it was at the School of Hard Knocks. He knows Everything that Will, Could, or Potentially Might happen to Anything, and builds it so that It Won't.

Finally started going to college, for a degree in engineering. Mike Patey’s Videos where the inspiration to start chasing the dreams I’ve always had. Even if I end up working on Elevator’s and not designing for a career, Engineering is where it’s at.

There are some really expensive houses that people are building these days, but contractors build them, and you don't always know the quality of the construction, plus you're paying for all that labor. It's really interesting to me, and probably a whole lot of others, that Mike has been involved in this build from the very start, was an integral part in the design and planning, and he knows the quality of each part of the build since he has been involved in it, and has done a lot of the work himself, with family helping, that saves on a ton of labor. I'm sure Homes and Gardens, or some other publication similar to that would love to get a tour, and do an article on this and Mike/family, once this dream build is completed.

Hi both. I'm a PPL holder but last year had an unexpecterd open heart surgery. Currently grounded on a medical basis but it's a good news story and I've just the treadmill test to do that will see if I can get medically approved again. It did however refocus my mind on things. In terms of what to do about aviation, I spent some time thinking about this and whilst I don't know all the detail, I got to thinking about an investment fund. The fund would invest in 1. people (aircrew, controller, mechanical and design scholarships - wherever there is inequality or underinvestment having priority), 2. Aviation businesses, 3. Aviation start-up venture capital (drones, electric and urban air transportation), 4. Training and teaching hubs and perhaps supporting aviation heritage. All profits from the fund (Dividends, Salary contribution re-payment from fund traind people - they should make a contribution on employment through salary sacrifice to the fund of a nominal contribution) would be re-invested. The ethos of the fund would be for the betterment of aviation. Perhaps sponsorship and crowdfund to get off the ground. This would be a major undertaking but you did ask!

It’s very simple. To revive and guarantee GA, it needs to be made more like automotive. Get rid of the silly medical system. Get rid of the silly certificated system. There is absolutely no reason we should be forced to fly 70 year old airplanes with engine technology from the dark ages that cost as much as a house. How is that really safer? It is not. Meanwhile the FAA forces most folks away from flying before they even begin due to the silly medical requirements. If you are just flying for fun and not for paying passengers then there is absolutely no reason a medical should be anymore difficult or complicated than a drivers license. If you want to take paying passengers then sure, require whatever you want. In my opinion, these are the biggest thing holding back GA. Sadly, they are political hurdles, not engineering hurdles. Appreciate you guys trying to tackle these issues.

Glad you are safe. As a former military aviator in South Africa that experienced hydraulic failure in a Harvard (T6-Texan) and needed to do a hot re-light after a Impala Mk1 (Aermacchi MB-326) engine flamed out due to icing, I know how scary it can be but luckily our training saved us.

Did you mate the PGB Yourself, did you do a HP turbine disk installation on wing. You are very correct into Pilots stressing the engines in Hot Starting. I as a mechanic PT6 a pilot came up with the same catastrophic failure, Beec18, I'm glad you are good and very situational awareness into emergency procedures specially with an experimental bird, Good Luck in the future and I would recommend an FDR Until very very set...🙂👍
