I don't think eBay quite the bargain basement it once was sometime it's cheaper from a retailer. When I used to have my American layout it was a right mix of company cars well at least it was colourful.

you got some decent stuff there Clive, i had a similar experience with a seller not having the stock that they charged me for, i bought two buildings on the net, three weeks later after they didnt arrive i e mailed them to ask why, they told me they didnt have them in stock yet they still took my money! two months later one building arrived, i e mailed again they said the second building wan't there yet but they would mail it free postage to me when it arrived, after anothe month i asked for my money back, i won't use them again.The paint shaker is a good tool to have in your kit too, having fibromyalgia i cannot really shake paint bottles without feeling a lot of pain and fatigue, I built my own paint shaker using odds and ends I had in the shed, it works well so far. that undecorated/unpainted athearn covered hopper could be nice if you painted it gray, put a number and some capacity info, maybe from your leftovers from other kits. Then you could weather it and patch it so it would seem like the car had been sold to another railroad and the old logos were therefore painted over. Something like conrail did in the 1970s. You could google that and find lots of inspiring photos. So in that project you need only some scrap of decals. try it !

Yesterday at my local Sue Ryder charity shop they just put out a large N gauge layout for £75. This included a DCC controller, track with lots of points plus a Dapol Class 125 loco along with a coach They said more was coming in rolling stock wise later. Unfortunately I don't do N gauge my sight is not that great so not for me. Will be a great start for someone it makes you think what is out there?

The Accurascale deltic is worse on Sams trains there's a big gap at bottom of window scondmans side but Sam missed it!

What era are the blue box models Clive... I do the early stuff? How much for the Pennsy stuff?

Obviously you felt it was a good deal to pull the trigger on it, but that is quite a lot... a bit of a sad story behind it, but definitely you got a lot more than had to tried to buy it all piecemeal. I wish there was a solution to save the backscenes until you decide to use them or not... they are quite nice, especially for the age.

Hi Clive, A lot of layout for not a lot of money as long as you can use (or sell) a good bit of it but a shame you could not get it to run for a last time and put it on YT for posterity please do another on how you will use it when its a lot clearer but well done for a bargain well spotted.
