Thank you for showing those pictures I absolutely appreciate the value of those jcp nwa wrestling photos … I only watch jcp nwa wrestling yes iv seen them a million times but those matches never get old Screw wwe crap ass corny bubblegum wrestling Vince killed wrestling when he killed the territories plus once he exposed wrestling that was it you can never get that back and the magic of all wrestling was gone forever … my family and I would go to the Lynchburg city armory in Lynchburg Va during the 80’s it was a super tiny armory but the memories are plentiful and all the greatest memories of my childhood is connected to jcp nwa wrestling … Thanks … GOD BLESS !!!

Wrestling fans have been remembering and reflecting on late 90s Monday night wars for so long now it does basically feel like 60s rock. Everything after gets compared to, reframed in relativity to and held to that standard and a lot of the most popular things related to it are ‘remastered’, a callback or a sequel etc to things that happened in that era.

I have mixed feelings about Vince K. McMahon (aka Vince McMahon Jr.) no longer being with WWE. Back when VKM was with WWE, he and his WWE creative team would get their storylines over with instead of dragging them out way too long. VKM's son-in-law, Triple H (aka Paul Levesque) and his creative team like to drag out their storylines way too long and that is boring. But at the same time, I am glad Vince K. McMahon is no longer with WWE because Vince and his WWE creative team would focus way too much on their top veteran pro wrestlers and not so much on the new generation of pro wrestlers of today. As for Paul Levesque/Triple H on the other hand, Levesque has been releasing more and more younger WWE stars from their WWE contracts and that is just sad. Like father-in-law, like son-in-law, I guess.

Piper's time was a bit too late,,, He should have been before Hulkamania as the heel to beat, but the Iron Sheik took that role. I don't think Piper was as hated as Sheik, so that may not have worked...
@1sportsfan
@1sportsfan Ай бұрын
I think it was a different type of heat. Sheik was a foreign heel in the Ronald Reagan end of Cold War, Iran Hostage era of USA Patriotism. Also, I think Piper actually came into WWF right AFTER Backlund lost the title to Sheik so the timing doesn't work for Piper to beat Backlund directly anyway. Finally, back in those days, when the outgoing champion had "some say" in who they dropped the belt to, apparently Backlund did NOT want to turn heel and lose to Hogan directly but he himself (Backlund) hand-picked to lose the title to Sheik, because Bob respected Sheik as a legit amateur (shoot) wrestler. Nice talk. I've heard alot of podcasts with Cornette, Mantell, Ross etc about champions and one thing they bring up is does the guy even want to be the champion? Does he want the travel grind day in and day out? (we know back in the day being the NWA champion was a travel killer with champions asking to have it taken off them. I'm sure the WWF was a travel killer too) Does he want the pressure to draw at all these shows? Can he work with anybody and make them look good or do you have to have his kind of match? (Dusty) A biggie also is is the guy reliable? (Buddy Landell) Just subscribed.

I do not watch WWE, to much drama, not enough wrestling. Let's be honest the wrestlers really need to step it up. They are not as big as the past wrestlers, mic skills are not as good. WWE has a lot of talent that they refuse to use. Where is Jade Cargill? AEW, TNA and OVW wrestlers go to WWE and you never see them!! WWE has hyped up Jade and she hasn't been used yet. Why?? WWE did this to EC3, Eric Young, etc. Back in the day, WrestleMania didn't need legends to hype the shows up, the wrestlers did it on their own. And you wanted to see the matches! My rant. lol
