For dehydration, maintainance fluid lets say patient is 70kg , so 25ml/kg/day x 70kg = 1750ml/day So are we going to give 1750ml for 24hrs at a rate of 70cc/hr ??? Or Are we going to give 500ml or 1L at 70cc/hr until the patient gets stable ???

Thank you Dr Rupali for this amazing and extensive guide. I had a doubt regarding supporting information and I would really appreciate if you can help. So do we need to add the previous employments, experiences and skills, courses etc in the supporting information?
@rupsgotnochill
@rupsgotnochill 2 ай бұрын
Hi, you don't need to add all of your previous employments and experiences in the supporting information unless it is relevant to the speciality you are applying for For eg. You can mention having A&E experience if applying for A&E or surgical experience if applying for a surgical job but there is no need to mention all of your clinical experience again in the supporting information

you can request for one more attempt and GMC might allow you. Otherwise again PLAB 1 and then PLAB 2 or royal collage exams they might cause you a problem with registration as you so many attempts (i am not 100% though)

So you can check the person specifications of the speciality you are interested in an start preparing your portfoilio accordingly. However, 3rd year might be a bit too soon since portfolio requirements change every year. Some general things which would always be helpful is research, audit and teaching experience.

Any experience for consultant ophthalmologist from india having fellowship training and DNB degree for clinical attachment ts ? How to proceed ?
@rupsgotnochill
@rupsgotnochill 2 ай бұрын
I don't think it is necessary for you to do a clinical attachment since there are pently of middle grade jobs available with your experience at the moment but you can always get in touch with ophthalmology consultants in the UK to do an attachment to familiarise yourself with the system.

Hi Madam Very helpful talk . A quick question - does a teaching and quality audit in a hospital in India count for the portfolio ?

Hi, yes it would be helpful when applying for training but audits done in the UK might be preferred. Teaching experince done internationally counts as well as far as I am aware.

hello mam just watched your plab related video on yt just wanted to ask a question, as doing mbbs in maharashtra i heard there is 5 year foreign bond so how you over come that and give plab?
@rupsgotnochill
@rupsgotnochill 4 ай бұрын
It’s a bond that needs to be paid when/if you renew your indian license, not immediately after graduation. The 1 year government service bond needs to be paid immediately if you haven’t worked after graduation but I had so I only had to pay a part of it. I’m sure you’ll be able to find out further details about the bonds from your academic department :)
