I grew up in the shadow of Lone Peak and hiked up Bells Canyon a lot to LP back in the 80’s. Thus I love the name!

make it rain for fuck's sake: Cloud seeding, the main type of intentional weather modification, began in the late 1940s. The basic idea was to use aircraft or rockets to inject silver iodide or another substance into the atmosphere to mimic ice nuclei. The amount of rain or snow a cloud can produce depends on a balance between the number of ice nuclei inside it and the amount of water available to grow around those nuclei. Clouds often lack naturally occurring ice nuclei, so injecting them with silver iodide particles (which are very similar in structure to ice) increases the number of nuclei. This makes the clouds more efficient at generating ice crystals that either fall as snowflakes or melt to produce raindrops, depending on temperatures in and beneath the cloud. Cloud seeding is also used to disperse fog banks near some airports.

So, how are you guys from all over the U.S.?? I've always wanted to join a Type-1 crew....but I live in PA. We have exactly zero IHCs here.
@lonepeak1196

Most of the crew is seasonal and are only required to work 6 months out of the year. So folks will usually rent a place in the city, work, then go home over the winter. This allows us to cast a wide net during our hiring period. Throw in an app next year (jobs typically open in November and can be found on our website).

hello, a simple question, How do you distribute the work!? are they rotating? or if i want saw, when i join i said, that i want to be a part of the saw team? thx
@lonepeak1196
@lonepeak1196 3 жыл бұрын
Each person has a job and will keep doing that job for the whole season. If you are a digger, you dig. If you are on a saw team, you cut or swamp. There are always acceptions, but that's typically how it goes.

During your job search if you have the opportunity to talk to crews be sure to ask them: 1. What their culture is like 2. How many slots they’re looking to fill 3. How they treat other crews (shot crews, t2ia and engines) Make sure your values line up with their own!
