I own a lot of GearWrench tools; great design and quality. I own 3 of the GearWrench torque wrenches (1/4, 3/8, 1/2") and I hate them. When using them in areas where you can't view the display there's no way to know if the torque point is accurate without the snap of the tool. The sound and vibration either leaves you at less than or greater than the desired torque. It would be nice to have a physical snap built-in. Do not leave batteries in them for an extended period of time; one of mine corroded inside leaving the wrench dead, which I replaced. I'm willing to sell my torque wrenches if anyone is interested; like NEW. BTW, The instruction is good, the music is so annoying, sounds like a cat periodically meowing.

Has Gearwrench got anything equivalent quality to SnapOn and Norbar in digital?

Someone should teach this gentleman how to use a torque wrench properly, seeing as the video is supposed to showcase the operation of the product. The technique and hand placement used here would certainly yield mis-torqued fasteners.

Nice but foam I think is a lot of wasted space especially if you only have one box or bank.
@teneightymn12342 жыл бұрын
Would like this in the USA vs the ones available. A more complete set up that fits a specific box. Ones here don’t have that many options and hard to understand what drawers they fit.

That is so cool I really hope this is the future and at an affordable price for the average owner.

The trouble with electronic torque wrenches is when you most want them the batteries fail and you dont have any or the shops are closed! In england thats a bummer as everywhere has traffic you cant park and just nip in and get them and its a mission a manual is far better. I got a Snap On and the batteries are always flat.

Two of my favourite things!! The EV Cortina and Gearwrench tools. Seriously, I have my Gearwrench socket set (the big one) and ratchetting spanner set, regular open and ring set and torque wrench for my W124 Mercedes 300e, (also soon 'hopefully' to be ev converted). The EV Cortina is truly a magic ride, Highly recommended.

I just bought this torque wrench and I am impressed. I would say that it is better looking than snap on and don't get me started with price comparison. 😬
@haydenrobison11982 жыл бұрын
I just bought these from home depot (standard and metric non-flexhead set) I thought i was getting a great deal until i realized gearwrench skipped a few sizes in both the standard and metric sets.....and on the larger wrenches the ratcheting mechanism is pretty rough/janky. I would of gladly spent another $50 to get a set that had no skipped sizes.
@staseghrrhgesats19462 жыл бұрын
Sorry GearWrench. Done with you. Too dang big n fat on the ratcheting end!! Mechanjcs are seldom ever needing to use that wrench on a bolt head in the middle of a wide open panel or something. I bought some gearwrenches when they came out about 20 years ago. I still have one for comparison. The old ones are TONS smaller and more compact on the ratcheting end. They fit in places where you really need one. Night and day different compared to todays. Sad.

the only thing I do not like about these torque wrenches is if the angle you've set exceeds the max torque rating for the wrench the display with say something like overtorque or overload and you can;t get to the desired angle...
