i was told by groundskeeper to always bag bentgrass or else it will get spongey, aerate twice a year, and definitely topdress multiple times a year. my biggest issue this year was not sand leveling because i dont want to dump it in my rock driveway. i havent really had fungus issues cause i mix azoxystrobin and propicanizol together and do max rate. i need to plug before i sand level for the first time this year here in a week or two. bentgrass does not like to fill in well unless you do sand level

On average how many more mow less days can this PGR buy users ? If i can get 2 to 5 more days between mowing then I'll walk the walk spraying pgr, especially for a greener lawn. My lawn is palisades zoysia, it is greener and slower than other zoysia's in growth but time is money saved!

Depends on mow height. For my green and fairway it's easy to gain a day or 2. I was able to stretch to a week from 4 or 5 days with the taller stuff. Play with rate to balance growth reduction with any discoloration (what happens if you overapply).

Filling plug holes, a little trick i like to use is a gallon ziplock bag with sand and then pour it into the holes, almost like a pastry bag. super efficient

To get bentgrass to take in your problem areas, plant the seed deep, 1/2. You won't have to give it more water than usual either.

Have you tried covering it to help the seeding maybe seed and cover half with the white fleece fabric to help keep it moist to germinate quicker and you can still use the other half

Considered. This process has worked for me before. Just failed this time. Think I'm just going to let it do what it wants to do from now on. If parts aren't nice or don't fill in that's ok. Have it to use it and haven't been able to use it at all this year.

I have a video on my channel that I'll link below that talks about PGR and fungicides. I actually hadn't treated until a few weeks ago this year, but I've historically used either Armada or azoxy and prop applied together. Can add 3336f if you want another mode of action, but not really necessary.

I had an arborist out to check my pine trees and he said they have a fungal infection and basically there is no cure for it. There is a spray they can apply but it can only be applied early spring, but it may or may not cure the problem. The result may not show for 1-2 seasons. Apparently, there is no long-term cure for Needle cast fungal infection.

This is a good detailed video... I ditched all the DeWalt spools after trying all iterations of them... and went with the speed feed 400 from Echo/Shindaiwa... it's a direct fit, no adapters etc... and just works better and lasts longer. The dewalt design has a weak cap that you'll be wearing out quickly.

I used the green spectracide with crabgrass. It’s good however, it doesn’t last long. I now tried ortho today. it’s what farmers use. If not I am going to roundup. I live in Ohio. Yea there is very little residual and these aren't pre-emergents. You're just killing the weeds that are growing. New ones will always germinate and come up regardless of what you're doing.

Definitely comes down to the market you're in. A 7 or 8 blade will do fine. But 11 is best for greens height. They do pop up every so often, though.

Who told you the plants in your are weeds? The same people that make the poison you are recommending. Leave your lawn to grow naturally and stop poisoning our soil, air and water. In my yard rabbits and other animals eat those so called weeds. The human race would rather poison themselves than to see what they call a weed. Who are you trying to impress, the same neighbors that you probably never even spoken to?

Ok, I was slightly confused by the instructions on the bottle. The label says 5Tbsp per gallon, but 6.4 Oz per 1000 sq ft. I have a one gallon sprayer, and add 2.5 Oz (5Tbsp). You added 6.4 per gallon in your 3 gallon sprayer. Which is it?
@JasonSeiberlich
@JasonSeiberlich Ай бұрын
Believe they are different application goals. The 6.4 oz is the broadcast application rate per 1000. There also may be the recommendation to go with higher carrier volume. I.e. doing 6.4 oz per 1000 bit doing that via 2 gallons or more of water. I have always done 6.4 oz per 1000 in 1 gallon of water and had great success with the product.
