hate to be that guy, but your finger in front of the trigger guard while shooting isn't a good practice to have. if you shoot a friends big bore or you "slip" you can lose that precious pointer finger tip pretty easy. Nice revolver though

Do you still have this gun, and if so, have you had any issues with it? Reliability and whatnot from Taurus is either a hit or miss.

I learned a valuable lesson with mine. Due to the short barrel, you need to use a light bullet weight. If you try to use a heavy load, you'll not have the power to punch through all kinds material that you thought you could with a full size .45 auto

My 9mm is same size , but I grab this when I leave the house. Wonder why ? It's the difference between getting hit with a stone or hit with a Brick.

Also, mainspring aids recoil spring for first 1/4" of travel by pushing back hammer. Slide needs sticky grease where it cams on hammer or it will gall, I use Lubriplate on slide. Oil for rest of internals; too simple to gum up anyway. Top of hammer is crude casting, needed to be filed round on top to mate smooth with slide bottom. Dust cover requires removal of RH grip panel to remove slide because it covers takedown pin & mounts under grip. Grip screws come loose w/o loctite, so it's a hassle.

I have one, brutal fun to shoot. 12lb trigger will wear out your finger after 50 rounds. Must use tip of trigger finger, if you wrap trigger finger inward to gain leverage the knuckle of middle finger will get bruised by bottom of trigger guard. Tried lightening main spring, no good, unreliable ignition. Heavier Wolff recoil spring is good. Functions well with HP defense ammo & good mag, even +P. Ball range ammo OK, handloads iffy, no SWC. Mine shoots high, windage OK, hits cans @ 7yds.

I got the s&w 329pd 44 mag. And to be honest it feels the same as my dads raging bull in 454 casull. Minus the weight difference

Holy muzzle blast batman! The Redhawk is a *big* gun, even in a 3" barrel... how does it compare as far as feel in the hand to the 444? The redhawks/GP series/S&W large frames are just too big for me to get a good grip on, as are the large frame taurus models... is this a viable alternative?

nice. I am actually looking into buying a revolver just like this, its a taurus ultralite 38sp+p. And I was looking into ammunition. Saw this brand that you are using, but had never heard of it, so did not know how well it worked.

Did you ever get one, and if so, how do you like it? I might get one in partial trade, id use it to replace my glock 20 on farther harder backpacking hunts. Front country id still use my G20

The groups were good and it functioned fine through the rounds I fired. No troubles with the cylinder shutting at all. The grips did not help with recoil at all. The red rubber strap was as stiff as the black rubber area.

Yeah, it puts out a big flash and bang...so much it got some of the other shooters attention. It's fun shootin 44 magnums, but on this very light 28oz. gun it kicked hard! Nice fireworks for sure ;p

One of the nicest things about most Glock (Sub)Compact pistols is that you can use the full-sized pistol's magazines in them without any modification (like the Glock 20's magazines in the Glock 29).
