Activated a reserve and ride at Chessington for the day I bought it rather than the day I needed it, oh and I also only got Discovery Pass for my merlin annual pass and ended up going there during a blocked off half term week due to having a job interview there the next day AND I turned up at 12:30pm thinking it would be fine because I had reserve and ride So that was £20 extra for a restriction day ticket, £30 for the wasted reserve and ride, another £30 for buying a second reserve and ride once I arrived and realised the first one wasn't working, my most unnecessarily expensive theme park trip yet 😅 We are all muppets here 🤝

We're near Edinburgh and go to Blackpool once a year - almost always in October. In 2918, my son and I decided to go down on the Tryst weekend (1st Monday in Sep usually). We had 5 hours of travelling as we went by train, and The Big One was closed for maintenance, someone puked on the Nash and they had to hose it off, Skyforce was shut and Icon broke down. Probably my most disappointing day in Blackpool ever.

Only come across this video now. I think the owners need to revert back to the pay as you ride scheme. It will bring people back and bring more money back to the park. It seems like the investors and owners are trying to ride on nostalgia rather than quality. I just don’t think anything will change if they add another hotel. It won’t change the problems

That ride photo one🤣 Our worst mistake was we drove to Disneyland Paris with a roofbox on our car for suitcases. Yeah you guessed it, we drove into a Disney car park with a heightbar on the entrance and forgot the roofbox was on! We (or should me!) crashed the heightbar off which landed and smashed on our windscreen. While my family enjoyed a lovely day, I ended up having to spend the day sorting a new windscreen in the car. Doh 🤦‍♂

Pay per ride is the worst idea. Anybody saying otherwise has lost their mind. For context, I visited South Shields amusement park with my family of 4. They use this "pay per ride - card top up" system. First ride we went on - Ghost Train. This cost £3 per person, so it cost £12 for ONE ride. And this, was one of the cheaper rides. Coasters were £5-£6 EACH! £20 for all four of us to have a go the Rollercoaster. - This does not benefit the consumer, unless You want to blow your bank account and skint yourself fast! - We have just done Blackpool Pleasure Beach this week. And it cost less than South Shields Amusement park. And anybody who has ever been to Shields will tell you, there's really nothing there to compare to Pleasure Beach. Seriously, I'm lost for words when I hear anybody say "bring back pay-per ride". - Just get yourself a day pass and enjoy a full day of rides.

Great series. The Virgina Reel was one of those rides that I was too scared to go on. We only knew it as The Reel. I still have nightmares about Noah’s Ark because it had those electric shock devices on some of the hand rails.

My first ever trip to Alton Towers was with my mum back in 1995. I remember seeing Nemesis for the first time and just LOOKING at it I felt like, "No way." It would not be until 1997 where I dared Nemesis and fell in love with that coaster. Can't wait to try out the new track next week.
