These movies were absolutely horrible. From acting to writing to story arch... it was just so all over the place. And years later now, rewatching, Luke deserved so much better of a character arch ending. What a disappointment.

So the prince (now king) banished the grand duke with the step mother and her daughters. I find that a bit concerning, I mean yeah, the grand duke got in the way of the prince and cinderella's love but is that a really bad thing? I mean the reason why the grand duke is against it is because hes looking out for the welfare of the kingdom, from the description of the foreign princess, the kingdom they reside in a small kingdom, its probably lacking in resources so what the grand duke was securing was a political marriage to strengthen the kingdom not entirely on his own benefit. The prince banished a loyal subject in the name of love without even considering the consequences. Well, thats just my take on it.
