Lovely vid Jack of areas of the Island i don't often frequent. Beautiful weather to boot. The incidental music particularly at the beginning is very post punk/atmospheric, and reminds me of The Chameleons guitar sound. Is this your own music? Either way, good stuff.

Good to see the old locos again. I used to travel behind them from Cowes to Ryde pierhead on my way to London when i worked there.Long time ago now.🙂

Very enjoyable , thank you . I can't help thinking though that the official history of the railway is filled with absurdities . Too much happened in too short a time, as Stephenson's Rocket exhibited in 1830 . and within a few short years miles and miles of track bed and lines laid , traversing all kinds of terrain all over the country reaching even tiny villages , glorious stations , viaducts that can only be described s magnificent structures that would take decades to build even today .But this was supposedly achieved by horse and cart technology and hard working men . Something doesn't add up.

I feel like the Island Line should be expanded, over some of the lost routes, but I really feel as though the larger population centres on the north of the island need to be reconnected FIRST, before anything else. When I say that, I mean centrally connected too, not with a new station in the outskirts. If that means going underground, then that should be considered. You’ve got to connect the larger population centres first, because it’s the only way to make lines to locations like Ventnor viable at all. Cowes and Newport need a centrally located station at each town to make any of the Island system work. As far as I’m concerned, the steam railway needs to move over and run on a parallel line to the Island system. Unfortunately, the opposite is likely to happen and I’m sure it’ll be lost entirely if this viability expansion doesn’t happen soon.
