What gap would you do if your st 250 running stock only got a rs airbox and dump valve no map
@stjezeky22246 ай бұрын
If it's stock then I'd just get the standard gap. If ya look online and Google NGK Irridum sparks for the ST250 as long as they are right for the car, they will come pre gapped to the aproximate correct gap. If ya tuned then that's when you find sparks that mention certain gaps. I believe the original pre gap is around 0.030-0.032 but you'd have to Google this. Any company selling NGK Irridium Plugs as long as its for you car will be correct. You can always ring company ask.

Thanks for taking the time to do this vid 👍 Yeah, i've been umming & ahhing about it too, mostly as i was guessing it would be awkward to fit... i'm not keen on having the double-sided tape too as tape often goes manky over time. Was looking at this company's one but there's also another seller 'Emporium Customs', there is a price difference but WF lays-out the options a little better - however my thoughts were correct about it all comes from China and likely every seller of these wraps sources from the same factory. So far the best thing about the UK-based sellers, like WF & EC, is that you can see easier the available choices and if you need assistance you're more likely to get it - however if you're confident with the installation & choice of the wrap, yeah you can get it cheaper (and quicker?) from the China sellers. And indeed that's why i wouldn't get one with the top marker - OCD stress! 😅

What engine mods are on your car then? Mountune MR300?
@stjezeky22242 жыл бұрын
Not mountune. Their maps are conservative and quite tame. I'm with REVO. On this platform the REVO and MSD tunes are the best you can get. I've been on track against equally modified and tuned cars by Dream Science, Collins and Mountune and stratified and they all lose out some power here and there against mine. Never had chance to go head to head against MSD or Pumaspeed. Although Pumaspeeds are just as quick on road as mine or MSD tuned cars, their maps are awful however and tend to cause piston failure on more cars than I'd like to mention... Mods are 3" toyosports downpipe with 3" exhaust to a back box delete standard diameter pipe and a 16" resonator. Airtec intercooler Forge 3" intake with pipercross foam filter. Manifold spacer from SD GFB DV+ BOV NGK irridum sparks As well as other handling and aesthetic mods. It now has an MFactory LSD also.

@stjezeky22243 жыл бұрын
I would if I were you. They're supposed to be replaced every 50k for best performance as it is so it's worth replacing especially for a tune. Will idle better and give you slightly better performance. Nothing noticable really but it will be smoother and your engine will be healthier and that's a very good reason to do it. It's easy to change them too mate, very simple. Just measure diameter of sparkplugs and buy a hose the same diameter that will help you remove and install them. Any auto car parts store like Wilco Motorsvave will sell the hose for you.

I'd use the double sides industrial tape from halfords what you can use on number plates as that is very strong and stick it between the top part of the kit and spacer and then underneath the spacer and between the bottom part of the kit if you get me? Basically pushing the center part of the diffuser down by 3 or 4 mm

@@interceptor5645 another fix would be to play around with the exhaust rear mounts to adjust the angle which I know fabrication shops can do that work on exhausts but typically that's too much faff and money for something this simple. I'd say go with the spacer idea first.

@stjezeky22243 жыл бұрын
I'm glad the video was of use to you buddy 👍🏼 sorry I miss understood. 1. I assume an actual spring on the suspension snapped? And that it's been replaced (which side and was it front or rear?) 2. From what you've said I assume you have the ST3 and the automatic turning lights when you indicate and turn a corner etc? If that's the case, it's quite a common issue with the ST3 spec from what I understand as I have the ST2 spec. They arent expensive and simple to fit/replace from what I gather. Are you in the mk3 st owners uk group on Facebook? Best bet is to as there, as they have so many people in that group, it's hard to have a fault no one else had already encountered and fixed.

Definitely right decision to have forged internals if you are going to stick a hybrid turbo or bigger turbo on. Have you also changed the clutch and flywheel as the stock MMT6 flywheel and clutch are only rated for 331 lb ft torque. Need a Focus RS dual mass flywheel & clutch or similar (these are rated at 600Nm of torque as opposed to the 450Nm of the stock ST ones). Also, a limited slip diff and rear motor mount would be a good idea to put wild torque steer at bay, and improve traction / braking and stopping the electronic driver aids having seizures over the power and torque coming through 😉
@stjezeky22243 жыл бұрын
Way ahead of ya buddy. Quaife LSD and RS fly with clutch and slave incoming shortly. Got a CEUK torque mount. Yeah I really dont rate the torque vectleing system on this car as the brakes arent the biggest so they overheat a lot faster than when you just have an aftermarket LSD installed. (A video on the LSD and the full RS clutch conversion coming end of May). Also excited to have the LSD to stop tyres from getting shredded so much. Big turbo and meth wont happen until.i get it forged and that's a couple years away. Next few steps are bigger brakes, new alloys, rear seat strip and spare wheel to get a good weight saving, front buckets, already got a KBrace from BAF Motorpsort delivered ready for fitting in the next few weeks. All this will happen over the next 1-2 years. Thank is for checking out the 👌🏼 video
@n0w3lly903 жыл бұрын
@@stjezeky2224 spot on... 😉 i tried to get a quaife, but lockdown and furloughing meant getting what was available, so, I have an Mfactory LSD (same thing tbh!) And like you the RS transmission pack. Bit of a mish mash on the suck/ bang/ blow side: stage 2 airtec under the hood, stage 3 intercooler, and stage 1 remap (Pumaspeed MAXD 280) ... as a result, 289bhp and 386 lb ft torque. Catback coming up early May, then later sports cat and stage 2 (perhaps early next year... see how things go). Yep, good video mate, and STs have a lot of enthusiasts I notice, which is good to see: but then its a fantastic tuning platform 😉

I also saw the MFactory diff but decided on Quaife I think. I know its like £100 more or so but I always wanted the Quiafe. I currently have a full custom exhaust, airtec intercooler and forge induction kit with a GFB DV+ valve and a steeda manifold spacer. have Yellow stuff entry track pads to put on too in the next few weeks which will be a nice but very welcome upgrade for sure! Currently on red stuff and they are absolutely woeful.
@n0w3lly903 жыл бұрын
@@stjezeky2224 I was going to go for Quaife but the pandemic conditions made them unavailable to get hold of. And only because I had heard of them. But, Mfactory also have a great reputation, are used by a lot of car manufacturers (especially Japanese car manufacturers) and are made of forged tempered Japanese steel (which makes one think of their skills at steel making!), so it was a more than adequate alternative. Had Quaife parts been available, I probably would have got it. I was also looking at Wavetrac, but found the price a bit out there frankly (especially after all the labour costs are factored in dismantling the transmission!) 😉

Any reason for not going with the Cobb over the Revo? Do you all not have a lot of Cobb tuners over there or is it something else?
@stjezeky22243 жыл бұрын
Yeah we get the COBB accesport (not me) but the Cobb tunes them selves genuinely lack the power when compared to the REVO or Stratified maps here (from the research I've done I think it's the way the map deliveries the power throughout the entire rev range). Plus the REVO is also probably the safest tune you can get. They dont offer a pop and bang map compared to even Stratified, they're safer but perform the same. Only reason to get strat over REVO would be if you have meth or aux fueling or an hybrid turbo. In which case when I get a bigger turbo (not hybrid) in a year or 2 I will go Stratified.
