I know this was posted forever ago but I just have to say that one of the most heartbreaking parts of the breakup for me, the tiny details, is that: Alec doesn't move. He's taller than Magnus, so he usually leans into their kisses, but he DOESN'T. It makes sense that he doesn't react, he's trying not to, but the fact that Magnus clearly has to literally get up on his toes to kiss Alec- I don't know, it just kills me xd

I have seen that scene countless times and while I think I realized at some point in some other scene that Magnus didn't have nail polish on, I never noticed it in that morning scene before!!!

Harley Darling makes me sob for real, once you understand how deep the lyrics are, how they decided to do such a song like in a happy odd way of remembering and honoring their friend and producer Kato, he died in a motorcycle crash in a Harley Davidson, the first and last songs off the album are about him, he used to say I'm will live till I'm death by rock and roll, it was his moto, his motive, to live reckless and do things your way and go doing your own way, and so he did, and the last song has tons of lyrics that hit hard, once you hear the motorcycle you hear her say in a slow voice "He left me" while saying Ride away, on your harley, darling. You took my friend, it's such a beautiful way to end the album. She did went on drug and alcohol abuse when she was in a hole of depression after Chris Cornell and Kato's death, music saved her, redescovering the classics over and over again, she took her guitar and most songs on the end are done like that in that self reflecting state like Standing at the Wall, Rock n Roll Heaven, Harley Darlin, it's an emotional ride, the whole album is great

Great review/reaction. I absolutely love this album. I think you might be spot on on the "Jenny died of suicide"-line is about her past as a child actress and that it wasn't really her, especially since the video actually shows her character from Gossip Girl. She should also have been around 25 when Chris Cornell took his life, when TPR where touring with Soundgarden, so that's where part of the darkness from that song comes from. She has been quite vocal in interviews that the death of Chris Cornell and Kato (their producer some time after) put her in a very, very dark place, that she struggled to get out from. I really like how the album goes from a dark theme to much lighter and ending the album with "Rock and roll heaven" that is both a love letter to classic rock and quite litteraly about her starting to heal from all the trauma, (there are so many references in that song, "A garden full of sound" is probably a reference to Soundgarden), and like somebody else said, the last song is about Kato, her producer who died in a harley davidson crash in Hollywood. The cool thing is that it's his footsteps in the begining of "Death by rock and roll", so it's a nice tribute to him, bookending the album that way.
