Doing all the maintenance as well as major repairs on my Rovers. I learned a lot of easier ways of doing things. If you ever have to change the coil pack again go with the Coil Pack Relocation Kit - Land Rover Discovery 2 - ERR6045TWS Motors SKU:WSCPRK1 Comes with new Bracket and hardware, plug wires. It mounts the coils above the alternator. Video's are on KZfaq. I hope you keep it. They are great rigs. Good luck

@@mcleodmarcel48 so i actually got a great coating company that im getting a quote from to have it coated in a “linex” material. And yes im keeping it white! Alsooo this motor gives me so much stress so it makes me happy to here the ls swap idea and if the videos keep getting traction, i will highly consider it or some other kind of motor.
@mcleodmarcel488 ай бұрын
@@Jimmydoinstuff oh, so you want some traction ay? I tell you what if you want some good traction do an LS swap.if you want to be a legend do a 4bt Cummings swap. if you want to be different, then do a Bmw diesel swap. It will also be cool if you swap the transmission for a 6L90e an pair it with a built LM7 5.3 or 6.0. You can nab one out of an old Escalade.
@mcleodmarcel488 ай бұрын
@@Jimmydoinstuff you should pull that motor out and rebuild it and sell it. The Bosch 4.6 is actually not bad of a motor it’s just that it’s an aluminum block with steel sleeves and from the factory they didn’t understand that steel and aluminum doesn’t do well together in an engine. It’s literally just an old Buick motor,but it was past time for that engine to die but still. It really wasn’t a bad engine. Land Rover just didn’t invest in the tooling.

The piece on the steering column linkage at 10:12 with the holes in it is designed to collapse in the case of an accident, it's designed to prevent the force of the front end collision from shoving the steering column into your chest like a spear and killing you... Prior to this era cars had solid steering columns, with no collapsible element, and many times in a front end collision the steering column would be thrust back into the driver with tremendous force and spear them in middle of the chest and kill them. This was VW's early attempt at a collapsible steering column as a safety feature. It sort of worked. Hope this helps.
