The dialed scope housing is smaller (not by much), but the UV has a smaller sight picture because of the High Vis Ring.

@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I keep hearing. I fletch 4mm VAP TKO’s with AAE Max Stealth, left helical, using a Bitz. They go on and stay on without issue - and replacing a damaged vane is super easy. I don’t use wraps because it adds an extra step, costs, more, and adds weight to the back of the arrow - a big no-no for me. Most people use wraps for the aesthetics. I enjoy your content. So what’s the max clearance on the uv slider on the exact same bow? How much more distance does the dailed give you?

The top pin clearance on the UV on the same bow, which has not been changed, is 123 yards. The only variable is the distance the scope housing sits from the riser. However, when I held them up, they seemed very close.

I was shooting whitetails with 350grain arrows at 280 fps over 20 years ago. I have an overdraw. Shorter Arrows are stiffer. Todays 70 # Compounds would spit 350grains out at around 330FPS. Todays 80# Compounds should spit the 400 grain arrow around 330FPS. IBO Standard is how most bows are rated. 5grains per lb of bow weight. The front of center just needs to be front of center. Proper fletching is essential. Why would you think 280FPS is flat compared to 330FPS? 350 grains at 330fps=84.65 ft lbs KE and will retain much of that when properly fletched. I use Easton's KE Calculator. My 80 lb Darton Viper Graphite was spitting 405 grain arrows at 291FPS with a 28" draw length in the mid 90's. It had 76.1 ft lbs. 400grains at 330FPS=96.75FT LBS. +50FPS=20 extra ft lbs. That's some over kill. I'd move away from 2 blade mechanicals. Those will cost you deer.
@MichiganAmBushOutdoors
@MichiganAmBushOutdoors 3 күн бұрын
This is all great information. Last year, my lightest setup was 450 grains, so I'm still a little new to the sub-420 grain arrow setup. Depending on how it performs, which I have high confidence (or I wouldn't run them), so I may go lighter next year. I also cut my arrows as short as possible to make the arrows stiffer. My draw length is 27”, so it's difficult for me to break 290 without getting extremely light on my arrow setup. Next week, I'm getting new strings and increasing the poundage to 75. Thanks for watching and for the comment. I appreciate the support.

I ordered the same arrow at the same spine. 29.75 carbon to carbon with 3 tac 2.75's on the back, stock nock (no wrap), 30 grain podium archery titanium half out, and 125 grain point. I'm coming in at 443 grains TAW and 13% FOC. I haven't chronoed it, but based on the Axcel sight tape I landed on, I am guessing high 270's to low 280's.. I initially started with 100 grains up front but I wasn't happy with the flight beyond 40 yards so I threw 125's up there and that seemed to settle things down. I'm tempted to bump my draw weight up a bit to chase a little more speed and or add fact weights and bump the foc up.... An arrow I'm tempted to order is the Gold Tip black Label Quantum... 8.3 GPI on their 300 spine which might make for an even more modular arrow build in terms of chasing velocity and 15% plus FOC.
@MichiganAmBushOutdoors

@stacyhardin611 sounds like a killer setup. Did you see the new Sevr Hybrids 😳? I think I'm going to try those this year.

How hard is it to get this product at the local pro shop or direct through spot Hogg? Thank you for an awesome review!! deciding between this sight or the HHA Terta Ryz X3 3 pin or UV slider Have a great fourth of July!!

Spot Hogg told me they aren't listing them on their sight until they fill all orders for the bow shops, so I wouldn't count on being able to buy them directly for some time. If you call Sunrise, they will likely ship one to you. Both the HHA and UV are great options, but I prefer the UV over the HHA.

Yes. Depending on the mounting bracket and pin configuration will determine the price.

Saw another review along with yours. There’s NO WAY this thing is worth nearly $500. Heck, the pins are still adjusted just like 10 years ago. No true micro dial adjustments. IMO, people are not using their $ wisely buying this thing.

It’s their money, they can do what they want with it. I definitely think it’s worth it.

@@brentbandy3566 well yea! There are sights that offer better tech, machining etc. Micro dial pin and windage etc cheaper

I would have liked to see a micro-adjust 3rd axis, but it's not a huge deal killer. For people who have run Spot Hogg and enjoy their sights, the boonies are worth it. The weight savings alone will be nice, and the ability to swap out that roller wheel was awesome as well

I want to see a Pic mount triple stack to see the weight. Also a double pin. I am considering getting one.

@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I agree with you there. I just got a triple stack FE XL and it’s my first SH. I’m really impressed by the bomb proof design. Like you mentioned, it’s hard to believe that when loosening the windage knob, the scope housing loosens up as much as it does when adjusting but it seems to fall back into place when it’s tightened back down. Also, I find shooting out to 100+ yds is a challenge due to the size of the triple stack. However, I find that moving my peep up has helped with that. Regardless, I’ll be buying a boonie next year when they’re more readily available (hopefully).
