Is it possible it is not an instant fix and maybe running the truck for a while the computer will fix itself
@TheBrothersWorkshop6 сағат бұрын
No, I'm sorry but that will not work. This is an issue because the parts failed. I just read your other comment, if you're still having this issue after replacing the parts you may have a different issue. First and foremost make sure that you have disconnected the battery and reconnect it.

Along with the temp sensor, can you just replace the thermostat or do you need to replace the whole housing as well? I see you replaced the housing in the video. Very helpful video. :)
@TheBrothersWorkshopКүн бұрын
When you purchase a new thermostat it comes with the housing. So, there's no point in just replace the thermostat and not the housing. If you have the new part, you might as well use it. Thanks for watching!

Good video. I've also seen 2 2018 Silverados that had a bad plug on the AC pressure switch near the compressor. It caused the same problem. The wires broke and it was pretty easy to spot

There are other issues that cause this apparently because i followed this to the T. My issues are identical. All OEM parts. Water pump thermostat and temp sensor. Got it all neatly back together, reconnected the battery..issue came back about 20 minutes of driving later. Extremely disappointing. Ive heard A/C relay, changed that, issue came back about a week later. Issue throws no codes. 4.3 ecotec. OEM everything. Any ideas?

If this didn't fix your issue, you don't have this problem described. Sounds like you might have a different issue all together.

@TheBrothersWorkshop5 күн бұрын
Did you disconnect the battery? Double check your work. Make sure everything is connected correctly. Are you using the correct parts? Make sure you are using the sensor and thermostat for your truck.
@SublimeTime19794 күн бұрын
Using AC Delco parts for my exact uear. I forgot to mention I replaced the water pump, the thermostat and housing as it was all one piece. It ran fine after all the above and then today 6 months later the nightmare re-occured. Yes battery was disconnected and GM premixed coolent used.
@SublimeTime19794 күн бұрын
Also of note. I found when changing oil a week ago my Coolent was low in reservoir, I have smelled coolent a few odd times. No visible leaks upon inspection. So unless you have a better suggestion, next is compression testing, then onto pulling the radiator.
@SublimeTime19794 күн бұрын
Totally the thermostat. Coolent is clean. After resetting computer the gauge wants to work again. But cold or hot squeezing the low and high hoses to radiator moves the cpplent level in the reservoir

Nicely done tour. I was the deputy commander on a crew of one of these in Kansas. I found this B&B recently and we are getting ready to head off to NM soon to stay here. Like a homecoming for me and a chance for my wife and show her what I did, where I worked, in my younger days. This one may be unique in that most of them flooded once they were decommissioned and the sump pumps turned off; here the actual missile silo appears to be dry and totally visible, without the missile however.
@TheBrothersWorkshop5 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching the video! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Having worked in one of these, I'm sure you will appreciate how they have stood up to the test of time. Both of the silos that we visited are dry, something I was also surprised to see. Enjoy your trip and tell everyone we said hello!

Delete the 4cylinder cut back do not buy one made in Mexico the fin leaks on the roof. The ac compressors fail and throttle response was bad on my 2015 rally 2 Chevy I bought brand new. I sold it in 2021 for $32,000 with 66,000kms on her and if she had the Mexican vin I would have gotten $24,000 from the same company that bought her off me so beware of the vin as it’s the biggest thing when buying anything for big money now. Number 1 on the vin your laughing number3 run away unless it’s super cheap

I had an issue with the high beams on my 2017 Sierra indicating they were engaged and not actually getting brighter >>> Forums suggest, you guessed it, it's a bad, non-servicable relay on the same fuse box/board! Truck wouldn't start without a jump, and then proceeded to die shortly after. Alternator? Per my mechanic, the repair guides suggest it's the fuse box/board.... Local Stealership has none and says they are on national backorder and has no idea when they will come in. I noticed my horn was no longer working when locking up with my FOB either. I'm hoping the trifecta is ALL this crappy board! 🤞🤞 Currently ordered with overnight shipping for the same cost the dealer wanted anyway. Can't risk driving the truck and not knowing whether it will start and die while driving or even start at all! Thanks for a great video! I'll come back to comment to update what issues the swap fixes for me.
@TheBrothersWorkshop10 күн бұрын
Wow that's a crazy story. When it comes to your horn not working when you use your key fob, that's usually an indication that something else is wrong.

I have a 2017 GMC Yukon with the 5.3 and six speed transmission with 42,000 miles. So far, the only issue was a leaky intake gasket, which was fixed under warranty. There is a very experienced transmission rebuild shop near me. The owner told me if my transmission ever goes bad, he can rebuild it with much beefier aftermarket parts that will last much longer. I also used a programmer to deactivate the 4-cylinder mode. What a dumb idea that system is. The Yukon drives and shifts so much better with that system deactivated. I also installed a catch can. A catch can is a good idea on these direct injection engines. It seems buying any newer vehicle, one never knows if it will be a good purchase, or a bad one. That goes for any brand, they all have their issues in one way or another.

@TheBrothersWorkshop19 күн бұрын
Should you drive the vehicle, no. You will not have the ability to use your horn if you remove the fuse. This can cause a safety issue. Can you drive the vehicle, yes. Removing the fuse has nothing to do with any of the mechanical components of the vehicle and will still operate.
