The “XXL Violin” (as you called it) is the Morin Khuur (Horse Head Fiddle), it has 2 “strings” that (traditionally) are made from the tail hairs from a horse (traditionally the hairs must come from the player’s own horse to bind player to instrument and vice versa), the “Male” string has 150 hairs and the “Female” string has 130 hairs. The “guitar” is actually a Tovshuur (Mongolian Lute) and only has 3 strings.

Enkush has a great solo here. One of the best I've heard live scouring youtube.
