This is dominance display, they want to proove themselves who is more dominant, my mare did that when she got reunited with my gelding but she already had a foal, luckily they had strong bond and would sniff very long time nuzzling each other, but unlike if she just leaves she did in fact became sassy, eventually delivering weak kick, she did that to proove him and a donkey gelding she is dominating the, not beacuse she wants to protect her foal, since foal now plays with a donkey who is adult but same size as foal 😂😂😂😂😂

Thanks for watching and for your comment. Horse riding is a high risk sport and experienced riders accept that they run the risk of an unplanned dismount at high speed. Sensible riders wear protective equipment in case of accident. Although it looks like a lot of incidents, we ride twice weekly and falls average once or twice a year at most on average.

This is a dominance behavior. She’s not demanding him to breed but rather is over sensitive from the hormonal stress and also was aggressively protecting the gypsy from gelding getting to close to the gypsy. She bonded to this gypsy?

With respect, My mare Zara has been with me for nearly 15 years and I know her very well indeed. One of the first things I did when I took her on as a 7 year-old was to write to all 7 previous owners and ask about her history and behaviour. I know that she has always wanted her own foal and every male horse that she has come into direct contact with has received Zara's direct attention as a possible breeding mate. She has a strong affinity with all foals and small ponies that she has spent time with and it is a personal regret of mine that good circumstances for breeding never arose in her younger life. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

in the videos where you go riding on the roads, are you purposely putting the horses at risk to show how drivers are ?? I pay particular attention to the fact you don't like comments on those videos.
@clarity36702 жыл бұрын
No, we are exercising our legal right to ride our horses to bridleways. The people who are purposely putting our horses at risk are the dangerous drivers who ignore the rules of the Highway Code. Comments are switched off to deter ignorance and arrogance by people who don't know the rules of the road. You are one such case.

@clarity36702 жыл бұрын
Hi - the bird at top left at the start of the clip is a Robin. The bird at bottom right at the start is called the Great Tit. No kidding. The slighly smaller relative of the Great Tit is the Blue Tit and they appear in most of the video. We recorded some more footage today with new birds that have started to appear, and some squirrels that broke into the peanut holder and emptied it overnight.

We asked the farmer for a separate winter field to allow the main paddock to rest for the winter. This extra winter field costs a little extra but it was ungrazed for years, having previously been a crop field. The horses are very happy because they now have good grass in winter and plenty of space. We are very happy because we don't have to put hay out for them during the day for the winter months. 🐎😊

I just saw your video called the dangers of horses forced to walk on the roads and I'm very aggravated at all the cars who can never learn to slow down for horses I can't see a horse get hurt or horses that's sad and the reason why I'm telling you on this video is because I can't tell you on the other video for some weird reason
@clarity36703 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. The reason why comments are switched off on the video you refer to is that those ignorant and arrogant motorists who put our lives at risk are also very keen to give us abuse on this channel. They don't like it when we try to raise awareness about vulnerable road users because they selfishly believe that only motorised vehicles should be on the roads. That's why comments are switched off.

They all have different personalities that were forged when young and some behaviours are very difficult to change. Horses tipping off a rider and running home does happen, sometimes because they have a fear of punishment built up from old experiences with previous owners who would apply aggressive methods in anger.

Welcome Richard. We are now fortunate to have access to exercise areas that don't require us to use roads to reach them. We will never forget the fear of riding on roads caused by careless, arrogant and ignorant drivers but on the positive side, such people are increasingly rare as awareness of vulnerable road users grows.

@clarity36703 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment Jyoti. the roads are becoming safer because the sensible people appreciate the guidance that we give them. For those who prefer to put people in danger because of their own personality defects, we have cameras to bring them to justice.

Hi I just saw your video about the dangers riders face on the roads, I never ever thought it were anything as bad as that - I am curious if it is now in law in the UK and if so, are you happy with its implementation?
@clarity36703 жыл бұрын
At the time of the making of that video, a campaign for horse rider safety was improving awareness in the general population and that has paid dividends. After lobbying parliament for a couple of years, we realised that safety for vulnerable road users was a not high priority for them. The best deterrent we have is our cameras; as with speed cams, that recording ability makes risk taking drivers think more carefully. The law has still not changed with other pressures faced by governments in a rapidly changing world and that may be the case for some considerable time. Hat cameras with video recordings to be produced as potential evidence and the spreading of awareness on social media have been game changers.

In the UK all white horses are known as greys. The larger of the two greys was a much darker colour when she got to us and the smaller grey was actually born chestnut and went grey as she got to about 2years old. Hope this helps. 😊

Luckily the rider didnt get kicked (i think?) and the horses are fine! But why didn't the rider let go of the reins? Would the horses have run away instead of staying with the others? No critic! I'm just wondering why :)
@clarity36703 жыл бұрын
Here's the reason - this particular horse has a habit of bolting away at speed and putting herself in danger in situations like this one. We were in the middle of 300 acres of woods and finding her again might have been very difficult. Every horse has a pre-purchase back-story that governs their long-term behaviour and this one is no different. She panics in stressful situations and letting her go may have resulted in her putting herself in serious danger. Not all horses stand still and wait for their rider to remount after a fall - some run away, and Zara is one of them. We buy horses with behavioural issues to retrain them and give them a good life but some of those issues can't be fixed no matter how well we care for and respect them. Happy New Year. :)
