I deeply resent the nerds who couldn't dance who propagated "disco sucks" that lead to its downfall in the US. Guess y'àll prefer profane rapping and no instrumentation or musicality. I guess it's simpler and easier for y'all to follow.

When kids, teens and adults all still danced together, while HOLDING HANDS. I remember my whole family practicing dance moves on Saturday at home, parents too!!! It was SO MUCH FUN and made me so happy as a child. I am in my 50s now. These videos, the music and the fashion- brings me such joy. Now everyone aspires to look and act so ......INDIVIDUALISTIC that it alienates and discourages true authentic community. There is just phony talk about being social or having connections but in reality- everyone is afraid, angry and suspicious of everybody else. Turns out we cannot all just Get Along. Society has lost its sense of humor and genuine innocent joy in having a good time together by shaking our booties to silly, joyous tunes.

We were listening to proper disco music back in the 70s not all that commercial Saturday Night Fever stuff , Salsoul , Philly, Montana Orchestra, Funkadelic.

1978: "Grease" was the NUMBER ONE movie . DISCO was everywhere ! A meal at McDonalds = under $5.00 (Big Mac, Large Fries, Large Drink. McNuggets had not been invented yet). A movie was $3.00. Gallon of gas= 69 cents , A concert ticket was $11.00. A candy bar was 35 cents. Meal at a diner was about $7.00. Meal in a "nice / fancy " restaurant was about $20.00. A record album was $5.00 - $6.00. Double album (Grease , Saturday Night Fever , The Beatles RED or BLUE "greatest hits" was about $11.99- which was a FORTUNE as a kid!) . Pack of cigarettes (NY prices) was about $1.25 ? A used car like a 1974 Dodge Swinger or Dart was $500.00 and it ran great-- you'd have it well into the 1980s. Love Boat & Fantasy Island on Saturday nights.
