two major points I would like to question out. number one, there are no indigenous vitis vinifera in America. not in Chile not anywhere else and number two, if you irrigate, big talks about terroir are somewhat pointless. vintage variation fully depends on annual weather and if you irrigate, you disturb the whole circle.

Vitis Vinifera was brought to America by the Spaniards (and others). In Chile, they are still as originally planted (without American rootstocks) because Phylloxera never arrived there due to strict control on imports. So, no indigenous, but on their original roots. Regarding irrigation, it is permitted and absolutely necessary in many denominations around the world, where rainfall levels are not sufficient for vine growth. This still allows the terroir to display and vintage variation, as it does not only depend on water levels but many other climatological aspects. Good questions, though

El error de la D.O. es dejarse llevar por los gustos de los consumidores y no apostar por la auténtica tradición. Por qué no esta autorizada por ejemplo la Monstruosa dentro de las variedades tintas?

Las regulaciones cambian con el tiempo, por presión popular del consumidor, de los viticultores y de los productores. No conocemos la Monstruosa, pero apostamos por la recuperación de la tradición. El consejo de Monterrei nos pareció muy flexible y abierto a todo tipo de opiniones y con un espíritu innovador. Seguro que están abiertos a modificaciones si hay suficiente presión de la comunidad…

This is one of the best videos I have seen for me. I am learning wines and planning a wine vacation next year. This video helped with what wine structure is and to visit smaller wineries instead of the big boys. I highly recommend this for those who want to drive through the Rivera del Duero area and pick up wines that you can not get at home very easily. Bravo

An excellent and informative video with enough detail to be interesting throughout and I like the balance of content styles. Priorat is my favourite wine region in Spain and it is interesting to see why the wines have appealed to my tastes. Please do more detailed videos like this for other regions. How about the neighbouring region of Montsant?
