Nice introduction. But one thing needs to be illustrated more. The men negotiated with Japanese troop was not from the two villages under attack. Rather, it was the leader of Sqalu Kingdom, jr. Toketok , who stood out and signed peace treaty with the Japanese representatives. The mordern researchers doubt the power of this treaty since the Kingdom had lost its control to many Paiwan villages at the moment of Japanese invasion.

then Japanese occupation of Taiwan is lawful or not? if yes, then why Japan had to return Taiwan back to China in 1945? then Taiwan should be returned back to Japan? if not, then the Shimonoseki Treaty was unlawful? then why Tsing government accepted such International Treaty?
WW2 actually start in 1937 when The Japanese INVADED Nanjing, China…NOT in 1939 when The Nazis invaded Polland. Also, The Japanese WERE MORE EVIL and WORSE THAN The Nazis during WW2. Here are the following reasons why I say this as well as why I believe this… 1. The Nanjing Massacre aka The R@pe of Nanjing, 2. Unit 731, 3. The Comfort Women, 4. The Bataan Death March, 5. The Chichijima Incident aka The Ogasawara Incident, etc.
@@AsiaHikelopediayou need to check your history again, Chin ceded Formosa & Pescadoes. All of that history leading up to Treaty of San Francisco is what’s kept Taiwan out of communist china’s reach. Good god
