I just use the appropriate set/up block setting on the height pre-set if I want to customise it. At the end of the day the height isn’t that significant, good practise says you should mark up your face sides and reference diff the same face. Thinking you’ve got your new adjuster thingy might solve the problem some of the time, however for example ply is rarely exactly 18mm, so if you don’t reference off the same face then you’re back to square one. Similarly if you use 2 different batches or manufacturers of mdf they can be slightly different thicknesses.
@markthomas51392 күн бұрын
Yes correct but if you can cut off the same sheet then all your thickness should marry up. If I just cut batches off 1 sheet for one part of the job. Once I start a new sheet of MDF I can keep that separate to compensate for the difference in thickness. I do mention in my video to still reference your face to get your face of your workpiece line up great. Thanks for the comment 👍😄

Keep in mind that there is a scale on the depth adjustment and you can set the adjustment to any depth. You don’t need the little plastic gauge with stops. That just speeds up getting the right adjustment. Just slide it out of the way and set your stock depth on the scale.

@@markthomas5139never thought of this. Does it matter that much though if you're already hooking up a dust hose anyways? An 8ah battery is heavy vs the plug it cord. I would prefer battery when I'm not using dust extraction but I almost always am
@markthomas513912 күн бұрын
@@dylandempsey6103 yes the same goes for the ksc60 as it’s stationary you don’t notice the weight. I think it may be great with router also adding a little extra weight for routing. To be honest the 8amp battery pack is light compared to other brands. If working with no power or sparky working in property them it could be great for people. Personally I don’t mind the plug it lead as I’m always connected to dust extraction 👍

I’ve had 2 break but they don’t cost to much but have gone up in price since Covid like everything else. I like them plus they are really light. Obviously if you want to spend the money look into Irwin’s but they cost a nice bit for 1. 👍

they are both great in their own ways but for me it is Festool for the win. I am a cabinet installer and I love the precision of Festool, I like the compactness and lite weight of the festool sustainers and at this point they aren't much more expensive than Milwaki or Dewalt pack out stuff so yeah, I prefer the Festool system. I do use a wide variety of tools but my precision stuff is all Festool and I think they are worth every penny spent. The track saw was an absolute game changer for me that started my love for the brand.
@markthomas5139Ай бұрын
I agree Festool for the win for me also. The pack out way to bulky when loaded with tools. Mine is only used for rip out stages of the job. It’s left on site so it’s not moved around. Festool on the other hand is in another league. It’s so compact much easier to move about and takes up way less floor space. Van space is limited also so I can pack more Festool also. My love started with plunge saw also and the sys dust extraction by Festool. Nothing beats these. As you said you pay for what you get. Milwaukee tools are awesome mind as they are robust. I’m the same as you I run all makes and buy the best of all makes they all have pros and cons. The most tool failure I’ve had is Makita they just don’t last. 👍😄
