So this is a beautiful song with gut wrenching lyrics because it's all about a broken heart. She gave him some satin sheets then dumped him shortly after. The sheets were too short they didn't reach the end of the bed. Hence "Nights in White satin never reaching the end ". Then he has a line about how beautiful she was. The next line of lyrics "Letters I have written never meaning to send" With 20 versions of the letter sitting in the trash he never mails the letter to try and win her back why? Listen to his next line of lyrics, "Just what the truth is I don't know anymore". He's questioning that she never really loved him. "Seeing others walking hand in hand" seeing others in love just brings back the pain of his broken heart". Go back and listen to it again. Damn the song all to hell its so beautifully yet gut wrenching at the same time. Every time I hear this song I cry and wonder where she is and how she is doing, for I too have a broken heart.
