@scantronsgarage if you have an air compressor DAP weldwood landau top and trim is the way to go. You can get a cheap spray gun from Harbor Freight. In a can DAP welwood, 3am super 90, loctite, permatex. Research good spray adhesives in a can. But spray from a gun is the best. They also make burshable contact adhesives. That's a great start for me but my Yamaha rx-1 snowmobile motor doesn't have bolt points for a transmission so I'm looking at using the reduction gearbox bolt points that is behind the flywheel. The output shaft sticks out far so the flywheel will stick out far as well. I'm worried it will put too much pressure on a housing I make out of a cylinder

So just wondering did you have any further diagnosis of the original wiring harness that cause that issue when you dove further in to rewiring. Your method worked on my 2500 silverado but I can't understand all my ground cables are in good condition and connected but when I don't have that jumper wrote I lose all spark on the drivers side of my motor. If my ground cables are good ands I'm not finding a broken wrote what would cause that too happen?
@scantronsgarageАй бұрын
I had the same issue. This engine ran fine on this wiring harness not too long ago. The only thing I did was remove it and put it back on when I assembled it. I double checked all my ground connections as well. The only thing I can think of is wire corrosion somewhere making a bad connection. I should note that I completely went through this harness to make it a stand alone and I did not see any concerning issues. Basically, I dont know : /

to block the EMF noise try using some ferrite magnet cores around the the wiring that you suspect. Grounding is also key and you could try using foil shielded cabling

Salt huh, that's insane the degree of rust placed on the roads in the USA. It's surprising that the environment plant species can tolerate it too . I do know that less corrosion happens if vehicles ain't parked in a heated garage in winter but left out in the cold instead . Less chemical action at colder temperatures .
@scantronsgarageАй бұрын
No, It was pool chemicals that spilled on the back of the truck that over time ate completely through the truck bed and tailgate and just the tail portion of the frame rails. The rest of the truck was rust free.

So the flywheel hub is just thicker?
@johnmahon8471Ай бұрын
How did you get the measurement of how much you needed on the flywheel hub to make up for the plates?
@scantronsgarageАй бұрын
@@johnmahon8471 Easy... I just mounted the engine to the transmission with both plates mounted tp the engine side and transmission side. I measured the gap between the two and then added 1mm to give the throwout bearing some space.
