Buy a dividend paying mutual funds--Use the dividends to pay for annual vacations. The sales commission is expensive and the resale is less than half of what you paid. Moreover, if you are foolish enough to buy Timeshare, buy it on the resale market at 50% or more off. Some people will give you their Timeshare if you take over high maintenance fees.

It's many years later and I'm finding a $25 per person per night extra person fee at the Residence Inn in Isla Verde, PR. With two teens, that's another $250. Could be worse, I guess, since it's not a full-service resort, but man, that really chafes.

When you click through the Costco travel site, you are in charge of entering in the dates for travel. I wish there was a way to see the different days of the week/month with prices. It takes so long to play the guessing game when you are deciding on which week to look at.

Home and Villas is a scam! They do Not curate these homes. They have no idea of condition, neighborhood, etc. No support. No phone. They do not respond to emails. If you call Marriott for support, they say it’s not actually part ofMarriott and tell you to send an email. You cannot get a refund. Bonvoy offers no support or help. There are tons of bad reviews on Twitter and elsewhere. Do. Not. Use. This. Program.

Just flew premium economy to Hong Kong. Massive upgrade from economy. It's essentially a domestic first class seat as he describes (maybe better). Free drinks, warm towel, nice recline, extendable footrests, preferential boarding. I will use this option in the future. Also I sat next to some interesting folks on both legs. I make enough to afford the upgrade but I'm still quite a frugal person. But I will say the extras do make the process of flying a bit more pleasurable.
