Dude you're an amazing human being, humble but radiant in your passion and pride in your work. Thank you for all of the great information and advice. My question is: how much did you charge for that job on that 20' center console, for wash, wax, and hull included? Also, what do you use for the glass and plexiglass?

I like the fact that you use Castro Super Clean, I love the product, and i've been using it for over 30 years. In my opinion, it's the best cleaning product on earth as far as cleaning grease, grime, mold all most anything, you name it. But I give a warning to people reading this post. Do not ever use Castro Super Clean on aluminum because it will eat it..✌️

private boat owner of a 2006 21 foot parker cc. Thanks for all the guidance on how to get started on proper maintenance. Planning to finally take a shot at compounding and waxing/sealing. I have a couple chips in the gel coat. I live in southern ca, coastal community. pretty moderate weather, stored on a trailer. What PSI is safe for initial pressure washer on this gel coat, what pressure washer tip used, and would having chips in the gel coat prohibit using the pressure washer at that PSI?
@DrakesDetailing4 күн бұрын
I would go with a light psi on the pressure washer. We use an electric 1800 psi pressure washer with a 15 degree tip. It will be save to use even with the chips. Hope this helps

Will this same process work on a RV or trailer that is gel coat and heavily oxidized ?
@DrakesDetailing6 күн бұрын
Similar, however I wouldn’t recommend going as heavy… RV gelcoat isn’t as thick. I’d suggest just starting with chop top and a yellow pad, and go from there

Okay, so I’ve been doing details for quite a while, but details are not our main source of work. We own a yacht repair service on the Mississippi gulf coast so we do a little bit of everything and sometimes we pick up a few details here and there. I have a potential detail coming up that’s a 1.25 mil dollar Bertram. I’m going to do a few test sections on it today as I’ve already spoken with the customer. She was very dissatisfied with the past three detailers, typically this points towards a PITA customer but this doesn’t seem to be the case. The detailers just did crappy work point blank. She tells me that after having the boat “ceramic coated” , one of their guys they hired for a detail used a pump up sprayer and sprayed simple green ALL OVER THE BOAT!!! 🙄🤦🏻♂️. My question is on the over hang on the bow where the cabin space hangs over the front deck there is some pretty nasty “yellowing, almost a brownish tint to it” in one section. I’m not sure what that is and I’m going to attempt to see if I can try a small section of it out that’s unnoticeable to see what I can do to get that out, may wind up having to wet sand or try something different. I know it’s hard to tell without putting your eyes and hands on the surface area , but what are your takes on it? Thanks Drake! Michael Norman Norman Yacht Services
@DrakesDetailing8 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment! If the boat was properly ceramic coated, which may be questionable.. ha the simple green should not really hurt the coating that bad. If the boat was coated properly, you should be able to just polish off those streaks with a medium cut compound on a 21mm DA. That should work just fine, If it needs more work then that, most likely the coating wasn’t applied properly or there is more to the story then just simple green. Hope this helps!
