There was a song in the late 60's by Georgie Fame called Rosetta. 'Rosetta, are you better, are you well well well'. I heard that song when it came out. I didn't know of Rosetta Tharpe then. Apparently, she was unwell at that time. Went by me completely. Georgie was on the ball, though.

I know this mofo did not say the blues was african and EUROPEAN inspired. NOTHING European about it. I can't with these colonizers.

41:16 One more blues One more blues Alright, just one more blues One more blues I guess me and rain were born to blues One more woman gone, one cold grey dawn, and one more blues One more blues I guess I'm not surprised For quite some time I watched the love fade from my eyes One more time I lost my heart Angels tossed one more blues One more try, Wanna give love one more try still got hope Still matters, just try This time I might win If I do, well then One more blues One more blues Alright, just one more blues One more blues I guess me and rain were born to blues One more woman gone one cold grey dawn and one more blues

This show in particular ranks near the top of how good Clapton has ever sounded live. No doubt Buddy Guy with him there pushed him to put more sauce into it
Love this doc!❤🎉 so enlightening, eduational and inspiring. Thank you

I first heard willie King on the Chris Hedges show.I was so moved by his playing and the Lyrics to the theme song terrorized I immediately hit the net to do my research and there I discovered one of the greatest yet not so well known bluesman of all times.

I met Turner Foddrell in 1994 or so, at his store in Stuart Virginia. He was super nice, and played a bunch of his songs for me. This video is a real delight, and captures what a wonderful player and singer he was. Thank you so much for posting it.

I had the pleasure knowing the Foddrells. When I first met them around 79 / 80 it was Brothers Marvin and Turner with Turner's son Lynn playing bass. I was playing music with Bob Buford when Bob and I encountered them at a gig for Blue Ridge Folklife Festival Ferrum College Virginia. They were all great guys and we certainly enjoyed listening to them and jamming with them also when none of us were actually on stage.
