The mistake is leaving the WIRING HARNESS RUNNING through the 1-1/2” space between the block and the red hot exhaust manifold. How stupid. First wires to go in mine were for the headlights, thanks a lot engineers. STUPID

That fire looks like it probably started in the front in the HVAC area. The common cause of that is a buildup of old dry leaves, which can be ignited by the blower resistor (which gets hot). That can happen to any old car, it's not unique to Fieros. Clean the leaves in that area on old cars. The famous fire recall on Fieros was for an oil fire in some 1984 4cyl cars. It was attributed to a combination of defective connecting rods on some 1984 engines, low oil capacity, and lack of maintenance. Basically if you neglected the engine, ignored it even after it started knocking, and kept driving until it threw a rod through the block, it might splash whatever oil it had left onto the catalytic converter and catch fire. The recall added a splash shield, increased the oil capacity, added labels telling people to check the oil, and replaced engines that were in the defective serial range. Unfortunately this recall happened pretty close to when the car was discontinued, so people thought that was why it got canceled, and it's been stuck with that reputation ever since.

I recently used the heat method on my lower arm bushings. One of them started steaming and slid out nicely with reasonable persuasion. The other bushing didn't want to let go of the outer sleeve, it only succumbed to an accidental Viking funeral. It looks in this video like you were able to just tear the bushings out with a screwdriver once the inner sleeve is removed. I'll try that next time. I'm replacing balljoints so I didn't leave it attached like in this video. My lower balljoint was very bad, it was popping on bumps and even in hard turns. I had a huge problem popping the upper balljoint out of the knuckle. I never even tried the lower balljoint until after I had bought the Rodney Dickman tool for this job, which made it way easier. When you guys removed the bolts from the steering rack, I think the mistake might have been removing the bolts sequentially. With only 1 bolt left, more stress was on it so it was more prone to break. It might have been better to get all bolts freed up before loosening them any further. I could have made the same mistake though, I'm just trying to learn from your experience. Also I'm guessing that since you had not planned on removing the rack, those bolts had not been lubricated in advance.

Hello, old video but for these "around the house coatings" how long should you wait before using said appliances? For example, ive ceramic coated my phone with hopes of slightly improving the oliophobic properties (to which it has made a noticeable, slight improvement) but with a phone I'm constantly touching it (obviously), so I'm wondering how that affected the application Also bonus question, does UV light help cure the coating slightly faster?

If I keep my car properly maintained with ceramic wash and wax, ceramic wet wax drying and detailing sprays could I use Armor Shield IX every year or do I need to compound and polish then reapply.

🤣🤣 That was a great little movie! I've had Armor Shied 9 on our 2019 truck since new, still holding up excellent. I also put it on my 2013 White Jeep, dirt really doesn't stick to the paint. I always recommend this product. The only down side is the prep and applying it. It is an all day job. But worth it!!

Thanks, I received the kit, followed the instructions and went a bit overboard washing it twice, clay barred, decontaminated and washed it again with the kit shampoo. Then I applied the product and WOW. I was not expecting it to restore all the plastic on my SUV. So I applied it to the windows.. WOW again. So I applied it to the interior of the doors (Holden TRAX 2013 - or Chevrolet in USA). I purchased this second hand and replaced the headlamp assembly, and replaced the racing stripes as the paint was too faded to leave them off. I put this on everything and my car is so shiny it is like a mirror. I did not do any paint correction, or even fill in the few stone chips. I just put it on and it is fantastic. The only thing I could not put it on was the tires as they are HUNGRY and soak it all up and well.. I did not clean them as good as I could. So I used a cheap tire black spray on those. Now to leave the car for two days to cure, and presto. I still have over a quarter of the bottle left too so I may touch up some areas in the future. I will know once I spray water on it after it has cured.

I have my bottle ready to go but I'm just not ready to spend all day doing the prep yet. But it will be worth it, I know.

Thanks for the nice tutorial. I'd like to split the application onto multiple (perhaps smaller) parts. Is there a visual way how to check if specific part was already coated? I'd like to avoid "blind spots" if possible. The coating is still on the way, so I did not have a chance to test it myself (yet).
