I would think that the inserts would be more for help with acquisition in dusk or dawn type shooting. Night shooting is definitely a weapon light scenario

If the firing pin wiggles back when you cock the hammer, it actally is safe, there is a transfer bar in the trigger that will only hold the firing pin firm if your finger remains on the trigger

Your serial number begins with mp and ends with dc which I believe stands for metropolitan police District of Columbia. I’m not 100% sure, but I have read that online.

Yes, about a year ago a big batch came on the market and were sent to numerous retailers. Some listings mentioned they were Metropolitan Police Department guns and some didn't.

As a Hungarian I could use it in my country for two things: sporting (cowboy action shooting is existing here fortunately) and hunting. Although as the .357Magnum would not exceed - and not even close - to 2500Joules for muzzle energy, it will not be legal for "big game", namely red deer, fallow deer, mouflon and wild boar. But is legal for roe deer - only needs 1000Joules for muzzle energy - and red fox, golden jackal, European badger, raccoon, raccoon dog (these last two are invasive species as well), without muzzle energy requirement. Hunting for roe deer in a stalking style this rifle would make a great company, lightweight and accurate enough for short distances (well within 100meters, rather within 50meters for a good stalker). But for the big games what require 2500Joules at the muzzle would be great the have a Davide Pedersoli M1886 in .45-70Goverment, and these two would cover all the "fun gun" for hunting. And some good - strictly side-by-side or single shot - shotguns. And a .22Long Rifle, even a single shot, just for pest control. Also, ammo reloading is legal here after a legal course where you get your license for reloading.

Not impressed with the trigger pull you got. They should have replaced your night sights, period! Langdon Tactical charges a lot of money for the work and has the nerve to return your HK with damaged sights? WTF!

Interesting. I run the 2 1/4" SP101, double action spurless hammer, and I think it's a fantastic weapon, with the stock grip, and stock trigger. The only work it's had, was that I had the gunsmith do a little cleanup on the trigger mechanism to smooth it out even more. I get great groups at the known distance range, and I shoot coming out of the holster on our own multi-distance range with good times and splits. So the SP101 works good for me, whether I fire 38, 38+P or 357. It's one of my carry weapons. There's nothing wrong with the weapon in this case. I think it's more a case of this weapon doesn't fit the guy running this channel, or just that he needs to go back to a firearms coach that is familiar with wheel-gun technique. I can easily imagine one of Miculeks coaching this guy for a bit, and getting him to clean up his revolver weaponscraft.

Wow. You really need to read-up on how to sight in a rifle because you have some things wrong…. Download a target and print it off. You can download targets that show point of aim and point of impact for sighting to a 50 or 100 yard zero @25 yards if that’s your max range distance. Search for “target for 100 yard zero at 25 yards”. (Replace the 100 with a 50 if that’s your preference)

The Remington 870 is the Greatest shotgun of all time!!! It’s a solid design, extremely reliable, and one of the smoothest actions on a pump you’re ever going to find. For all the issues you have, I gotta say it’s you, not the gun. You need to spend more time with it, get some training. You are the only person I have ever known to not recommend the 870.

Capacity in tube fed 22 rifles is generally dictated by the last round inserted showing either the bullet point through the loading port in a under-the- barrel tube magazine, or the base of the cartridge in a rifle that loads from the buttstock like the one shown in the video. During disassembly for cleaning and lubrication it's better not to go any further than just separating the receiver from the stock as these rifles came regulated from the factory via the tension spring plate forward of the feeding ramp.

Very utilitarian gun. Looks good and being an N frame, you know it’s going to last no matter how many hot magnum loads you put it through. It’s a work horse and one that hits with authority. 8 shots of 357 magnum is some serious firepower. There’s the Coonan 357 & the desert eagles but you sacrifice reliability with them. And the desert eagle in particular is way too big and bulky not to mention the coonan has grips that are only made for giant’s hands. This gun truly is a king that has it all. Power, capacity, reliability, style and substance. 4 inches is the perfect barrel length too for duty carry or OWB carry. 5 inch ones (627 performance centre, TRR8, R8) I find are too long for carry and the 327 & 627 performance centre snubbies are too short to take real advantage of the 357 magnums. This is the best 8 shot 357 magnum N frame revolver S&W makes and i dare say it’s probably the best one in the world. It’s a hidden gem no one seems to know about. Only thing I can think of that could compete with this in my books is the 327 PD, but with its scandium frame and titanium cylinder, you sacrifice durability at the cost of weight savings. Not to mention they’re no longer made. This thing in comparison is a stainless steel tank. Doesn’t get more durable than this thing. All Hail to the true King of the revolver world and let none dispute it.

Ernest L sez an 11lb. hammer spring works best w/FEDERAL primers & not great w/NATO or foreign ammo. He likes the 13lb. spring best. MUCH lighter DA w/dependable ignition.
