Great job ! Why is there no need to protect the wood from moisture ? We often see an aluminium layer in other projects

I feel your pain on this. Some days, I feel like my steel spends more time on the ground than it does on my anvil.

Pittääkö nuita hirsiä ensin jotenkin antaa kuivua ennen kun tuota alkaa kyhäämään?
@leppicknives9830
@leppicknives9830 2 ай бұрын

Very very nice, simple is as simple does. most people think you cannot without big tools but in reality its all in the hammer. thank you for a true look at what is possible in an hour from forge to to heat treat to sharpening.

Moro. On pihtien esittelystä kommentointi pois päältä... joku seppä on sanonut pihdeistä että kahden laisia pihtejä... itse tehdyt tai valmiista muokatut 😁. Tuosta veitsestä tuli hyvä ja terävä 👍

@leppicknives9830
@leppicknives9830 2 ай бұрын
I don't have power hammer, it's just cheap log splitter forging press. I think it can be done with just hand hammer. And if you get striker with sledge hammer it should be pretty easy. Keimo
@Belows682
@Belows682 2 ай бұрын
@leppicknives9830 ohh the log splitter is a great idea. Its mostly just me doing any forging in my home but i might be able to get my brother to act as striker for me. That aside, the result of your work is very nice. I really want to convert a medium sledge into a rounding hammer myself, ill probably refer back to your video once i am ready. Thank you for the reply!

Hieno video/kanava👍🏻tilasin.
@leppicknives9830
@leppicknives9830 3 ай бұрын

It's totally about what kind of katana you bought. If it's cheap Chinese one, sharpen it with what ever stone or diamond sharpener. Maybe you should ask the seller, how they do it.
