Some of these comments are idiotic. The cost of racing is covered by sponsorship money. The sponsor willingly pays the expenses in exchange for publicity. Nobody is extorting anybody, and if all motorsports disappeared tomorrow, not one penny more would be spent on the homeless or nutty environmental causes or saving the whales. Instead of whining about a sport you don't like and congratulating yourself for being so concerned with humanity, how about asking yourself how many people you've hired on your team, how many thousands of people you've entertained, and how many mutually beneficial opportunities you've created for business partners ? It's an easy answer: ZERO
