I loved this video and have been considering moving to this type of bob haircut which is lovely and classic however I have post menopausal (course?)wavy hair. Can I still achieve these looks with my hair texture?

My thin and baby fine hair has Never been able to handle mousse products. It makes it look dirty and feel tacky. I found a styling spray a much more agreeable option.

I love the hair fiber brand Toppick. I have greyhair and it comes in grey and white. Where a lot of brands don’t have the color selection.

I like the foam minoxidil better than liquid. It doesn’t make hair as dirty feeling and the foam doesn’t have an ingredient that can irritate the skin.

You are sharing technical expertise which is generous and wonderful. We amateurs will still never have your experience of styling thousands of heads of every type of hair and style so we will never be at your jedi level. Your jobs are still safe I think!!!!

Between two shampoos, when showering, I massage my « dry » hair (wich has some humidity from the shower into) with a scalp massage silicon brush. It does lift my hair’s roots so much, and keep its volume for a decent amount of time. This was a game changer, along with not putting any conditonner touching my scalp, only the ends. If your hair gets too dry from conditioning less, try a little bit of a leave-in one. Thanks for the video 😍

I really enjoy your videos. I have learned a lot from you and I still need my hairdresser. It is not the same when someone else does your hair. Plus I would rather know why my hair stylist is doing what she is doing, other wise I get frustrated thinking she might be doing the opposite of what I want. Please continue your videos. If people do not want to watch your videos than they certainly do not have too! Thank you Thank you🥰

i was surprised by the ending to your video. this is the first time ive seen your videos but i was struck with how you come across. humble, caring, genuine, polite, not looking to be a peacock youtube star. so was surprised to hear other people dont feel the same. high road is great, completely ignoring...better...keep doing you, you're just fine!

As a non stylist, you educating the general public on what hairstylists do makes me respect you even more. There's more that goes in to it then I might have known otherwise, and also makes me more scared to ever cut my own hair at home haha. In regards to educating on how to style-- why would I ever want someone to cut my hair who only thinks my hair should look that good when I come to get my hair cut? I deserve to feel as good in my hair when i style it at home as I do when I leave the salon. That would make me return to that stylist time and time again.

Thank you for this video. I was considering getting a pixie cut but was apprehensive of experimenting with a new haircut because I have absolutely no styling skills. With regards to the comment that berated you for sharing your tips- would that person feel the same way about chefs sharing their recipes/culinary tips online? People would still go to restaurants even if they knew how to make the perfect dish at home!

I bought the Mason Pearson travel size brush 10+ years ago when it was less than $10. It’s still going strong and I do feel like the boar bristles redistribute oil. I like to use it before I dry shampoo. I love using the wet brush for everything else.

I think the extra texture is less attractive. Not enough volume to balance out her long face. And I would increase the color gradient by adding more pale silver to her top layer to give dimension. She needs longer hair to at least conceal her very softened jawline and neck waddle from a side view.

As for not cutting your hair in a dramatic life events - I did just that. I couldn't stand my situation and I loathed myself for the prievous 4 years of my life. Recently I started changing myself. But some bureaucracy and stuff is keeping me in place. There wasn't much I could change because I need to wait for some papers and it might take years since there is a lawsuit involved. I couldn't stand the feeling of being stuck in place, I couldn't look at myself in the mirror - I wore the same hairstyle for 4 years straight, a tight pony tail with no bangs. I was tired of washing it and detangling it just to wear it in a pony tail 24/7 anyway. I felt stuck. I felt like a prisoner of my hair. They were heavy and the pony tail literally felt as if someone was holding me on a leash. I also had headaches, my head was itchy and I had wounds on my head caused by the pony tail weight. But I couldn't change the way I styled it because any change of the parting would be painfull and any style otehr than a low pony hair would make my head feel heavy, my neck hurt and the hair would get on my face. Also broken hair were escaping from the pony tail and hitting my face all the time. So one day I thought "I need to cut my hair, I want it short". People were telling me "Don't cut it, there is even more work with short hair". So I looked for a short hairstyle that is as low maintainance as possible and I found a buzz cut. I bought clippers and did it myself because my haidresser refused to do it and gave me a pixie instead (I walked with the pixie on for 12 days before I gave myself a buzz cut). The best decision of my life so far. I am still at the bottom of my life but I feel like I am doing a fresh start. The hair that is growing now is new hair, that grew after the bad 4 years ended, not the hair that grew during that time. And my face and hairstyle is changing month by month and I am changing with it. I can see how my hair grows, and I know the change is slowly and steadily happening. I no longer have no hair in my face due to pony tail that was the same every day in and day out for 4 years. My hair is off my face because it is short and growing. Last night I had a nightmare of having the long hair again and looking for clippers to cut it. I woke up very stressed. I don't want to have long hair anymore. At least for some time.

Thank you so much for this video! I've worn a bob most of my life, but now, as I age, struggle to get the shine and sleek shape that used to be so easy. I will, of course, continue to see my stylist for cuts and blow outs, but he's not with me every morning to help me get ready for work. With your technique, my hair is looking good on a daily basis.

Agree with every point you say- Short hair is so high maintenance- after 4-5 weeks it has lost its shape, not to mention that once in a while the haircut isn’t exactly how you want it. Keeping my hair loosely thight behind is the true freedom ;)) 🥰 Thank you so much for your sharing your expertise
