BENNY MARDONES was first discovered literally coming off a bus from Savage, MD by JOEL DIAMOND. Joel gave Benny his opportunity to write and sing his first recordings. Joel produced Benny's first record called "Please Say You Want Me" followed by Joel producing "Tomorrow Means Another Day We're Apart" having gotten Benny a deal on CBS Records. Benny certainly carved out a major recording career after that having written and produced on of the most iconic rock songs ever and to this day, still in the Top 25 most played songs on the radio, "INTO THE NIGHT". It was Joel who made the Mike Curb connection for Benny to re-record "Into The Night" which landed him his second Top 10 record with the same song. It was only recently that Joel took Benny back in the studio to record "Into The Night" for the third time. Benny Mardones has the distinction and unmatched record of having had the same song "Into The Night", recorded by the same artist Benny Mardones, different labels and decades, FIVE (5) times charted on the Billboard charts. Benny is also being considered for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Benny passed away much too early in June, 2020. Best regards, Joel Diamond www.joeldiamond.com

Hi and thanks for turning to one of those songs that prove that Kate Bush always was and always will be... weird! And many people just find her weirdness to be too much, whereas weirdoes like me just embrace that weird and go along for the ride that she takes us on. "50 Words..." is no exception as is the entire album, although the album of the same title also has some wonderful dark beauty on it 'Snowflake' and 'Misty' really are beautiful (although Misty is loooong and maybe too long for some people - not too long for me). The idea behind this song was, of course, taken from the old tale about yup'ik-ayaskimew-Inuit people having 50 words for snow, and in the song the various words for snow would become ever more ridiculous until we reach the most ridiculous of all such words for snow: which is "snow.!" If you liked this then I think you might like her song "PI" where she literally sings the decimal places of the mathematical term 'Pi' first to its 78th decimal place and then from its 101st to its 137th decimal place. Yes, she also did that. All parts of the reasons why some of us love her music. Thanks again.

I do enjoy quirky music, intelligent too. Yes KB is a wonder and a gem. I feel like I am 'suspended in gaffa' while tuning in to her range,lol. Thank u for the comment and a suggestion for a song I have never heard of and that insight,🤩
@tommydevlin7025 ай бұрын
@@Denaxas Hi and thanks for taking the time to reply to my comment. One thing about the song '50 words...' that has always struck is that she effectively relegates herself to the role of backing vocalist on it. Not many people would do that. But then to Kate, doing what was right for the song has always been very important.
