Fears to Fathom: Ironbark lookout ?

First, I was like, "The Goat Man?" because of that game, Do You Copy. Then I was like, "Spiderman?" because of the web.

Time to play the game, Fire Watch. =.)

Was the distress call a form of bait or was that an actual person?

I can tell this short is based off an indie game called "Do you copy?". Especially the beginning and the lost hiker. The only difference is that the chick was able to come down from her post. In the game, you have to guide this lost hiker using the map while this, thing, is also screwing with you.

This was the perfect horror. I loved it

where was this watch tower location?

That made me jump! I was expecting a giant spider to come crawling out.

This reminds me of the horror game "do you copy" same concept as this with the park ranger in a tower trying to help a survivor who is lost only to find a monster mimicking their voice.

This was pretty cool, finally something different from other horror films. Apart from the end. I think it would be 1000× more effective if we did not see the (very humanoid) creature but instead only the woman reacting. Until that very moment, I was convinced a giant spider would appear. What makes classics like _Alien_ and _Blair Witch Project_ so effective is that one never sees the entire monster, respectively never actually sees it at all.

This was good insofar as the production was good, decent acting, good effects, but I felt like it just didn’t have much in the way of concept. Like it felt like the lookout aspect had no real relation to the web monster thing. Felt kind of predictable too. I get its a simple horror thing, but I think it would be cool if it tried to say something at least. As far as unnerving horror goes, the creepiest part was the beginning, but for some reason it kind of lost its scary mystery once she left the tower and I saw the webs. I was just like “okay its a spider monster thing that’s gonna eat her”. The radio was somewhat interesting as it seemed to be some fake monster voice luring her in, but again this felt kind of like an add-on idea that didn’t really directly suit the other decisions in the film. Would have liked to see more cohesion of ideas, and maybe some central question or mystery to leave me thinking more after. My takeaway from this is there is a scary web monster in the woods that lured her in with fake human noises and ate her. I get its hard with a short film but I think its achievable. Anyway good insofar as it was a fun and simple well produced horror thing. Some of the scoring decisions left me a bit confused, but mostly achieved the usual goal of creating tension and a creepy atmosphere. The foley noises were generally great.

Why do people facing a creepy situation in a horror movie always do the exact opposite of what any rational person in real life would do?? Most of us would've locked and barricaded the doors and found a place to hide after waking up to sumthin creeping up the stairs of a fire look out in the middle of nowhere.But this woman (alone by herself) decides its a swell idea to not only go out to have a look-see, but venture out into the dark surrounding forest armed with only a damn flashlight!🤪

The film was great, but holy LORD was the MC suicidal. Like, something crawls onto your roof, you hear a woman say there is something out here and not even a minute later you hear her DEATH SCREAM and you go and investigate? And not only near you, into the forest and don't turn back when you see a sketchy spider-web that is wayy bigger then it should be, even your radio is telling you "something isn't right here"... Yeah, if you die after all of that it is on YOU. I would fortify my lookout, hide under the bed and pray to the Lord that I make it out alive, thank you very much

We need a sequel now!

Glad i'm married cause i see now why guys have such a hard time finding pretty girls these days. Sad to see her go this way as she was just trying to do her job plus help whoever was on the other end of that damn cell phone . Guess we found out in the end but this sucks cause guys need a good lady & creepy spider things do not .less it's for dinner. I liked your film even if i didn't like the end so much . Hell she didn't stand a chance . Gonna blame this on that stupid cell phone !!! Nice work , now lets have part 2 where she fights this thing . Give her some chance at least . Seriously you did a fine job on this .

wow i really liked this, especially getting to see the tower and the woods, and i kinda felt like i was there in the woods with her. it could've been a little better if it was a tad longer and if the ending had a little more than just a jump scare. but not a bad little film.

This reminded me of an indie game I forget the name with the horror aspect & it also reminds me of the game “Firewatch” with the uneasy aspect of the game
