Imo the best config would be without both top fans.. 2 reasons: 1. yes hot air does rise and your 2 intake fans on top are kinda fighting that 2. Yes u have positive pressure but the dust always falls from the top, and you use the top as intake.. I mean with that logic just install all the intake fans and voila so much positive pressure everything cool.

Thank you for a good review. I couldn’t find any other review that talked about the thermals of the quad core version. Good to know it won’t cook itself or be too loud. I just won an auction for a used base model 2018. Needed something that would continue to be supported by Mac OS but cheaper than the M1 or M2 mini. I’ve tried windows and Linux for my daughter but the parental controls were terrible for those compared to Apple devices where it’s easy to set up good parental controls.

i had a 1stplayer mv5 case for like a year and i didn’t really realize till now that they had all the fans mounted for exhaust just to show their stupid logo 😂😂😂 i had an nvidia graphics card so with their limited app i didn’t bother to watch the temperatures. today i got an amd rx 6800xt and installed to app and got a fuma 3 and i was literally shocked to see that my pc was literally choking at like 75 to 80 degrees in full load. i thought that was impossible till i actually switched 3 of my fans. front ones to intake and the back one for exhaust. now it hardly passes 65 degrees. i’m gonna get the top ones on intake as well to test this, so thank you for the tips 😁 and i really hope people realize the importance of fan configuration. 🫡 the sad part is that the amd app got me obsessed with the temperature numbers now 😂😂😂

the 200mm front fans have poor pressure because of the really low rpms, change them for 3x 140mm noctuas are waaaaaaay better and low gpu temp some degrees

the only problem of changing the top fan to intake is eventually the dust will build up inside the PC case

For anyone still reading these comments, I've found that you must keep the Backlight setting on 50 for HDR content, as the setting behaves differently for HDR. For SDR content, the setting acts as you'd expect, just affecting the backlight brightness, but for HDR content, it acts more like a Peak Brightness setting and setting it higher than 50 will cause bright highlights like the sun or bright windows to be blown out, crushing whites, with less contrast between those highlights and less bright areas of the scene. Test this for yourself and see the difference. It looks MUCH better on 50 for HDR.

I’m curious why “Intake/NONE” didn’t see the same improvement as “Intake/Intake”? Did you actually test that scenario off cam? You have results for it in your graphic I believe. Since you showed earlier that the front most top fan when set as intake does nothing, isn’t it reasonable to assume that most the benefit from the two fan intake setup is mostly due to the rear top intake fan? You could potentially just run one intake fan, the one closest above the CPU cooler, and have the same performance as the twin intake setup.

Crazy good video and test btw bro. I have the same case, I currently run the front 200mm fans at about 60% (7.2 VDC, ~550 RPM’s), and the rear case exhaust at the same voltage, which for the stock fan is about 800 RPM). This is adequate airflow for me, but when I get my Noctua D15 I may mount one of the 140 mm fans in the rear top intake spot, since I can’t use it in the front of the cooler due to ram clearance issues.
@meliotablet
@meliotablet 4 ай бұрын
Lets assume we have a stock fan which directly blows air to the cpu, basically from the sides, not front to rear like a noctua one. Whole situation changes right? Now the top-rear exhaust fan makes sense again imo.

But as physics says hot air rises so most pc builder suggest top fans should be used as exhausts, any comments?
@Micked666
@Micked666 4 ай бұрын
true, hot air rises. but in most cases the PC case is too small for this to take into effect
@edwinbanago278
@edwinbanago278 3 ай бұрын
thats true. but with something as small as a computer case, the tower cooler wouldve pulled almost all the hot air out before it even reaches at the top. now if you have the top fans as intake, that will help in putting colder air whilst the cpu cooler and rear exhaust sucks all the hot air out. if you have the same cpu cooler as in the vid, you essentially have 3 fans sucking the hot air out before it even reaches the top.

Should include VRM temperature. CPU temperature is already covered by the CPU cooler. Nothing is cooling the VRMs so the temp of the VRMs are more significantly seen

It’s also because cold air is touching the components. Putting exhaust fans on top never allow the cold front air to touch the components

How did you get the rgb to stay static on the 200mm fans? I use rhe invluded controller but the solid colors have a blinking effect and i hate it so much. Unless you are using rgb from your mobo.

i remember an old pc i had back in 2000s, the cpu cooler had a exhaust directly out of the case why do they not have that anymore, because that would rly improve the flow, how u have 2 huge fans on ur cpu cooler and 1 small cooler sucking away that air in the back of the case

The RGB in my fans that came stock with the case are starting to go out does anyone know if the Thermaltake Riing Plus 20 LED RGB case fans will fit? I'm looking for something a little more updated. I'm currently running three Thermaltake fans via their controller two top and the chassis. So I have two more open spots on my controller.

that makes sense as CPU has more access to "fresh air" if you add 2 intakes on top instead of exhaust and my guess is VRM will also benefit as there should be colder air passing through

with my first PC in 2017. While 3 front intakes and one back exhaust were enough but due to overlooking GPU and Cpu are reaching 70-80 deg C and getting downclocked I was using ryzen wraith stealth stock cooler for cpu after so many experiments, putting one intake fan right above cpu and another intake fan right below gpu with just one exhaust gave me the desired OC results within 70-80 temp limits
