You missed a step. There is one screw you need to remove from the inside of the door. You need to remove the vertical trim piece first.

After watching this, I’m happy I got the hard top. With the hard top, I can just take it through car wash.

It is painted. It looks like Brilliant Black to match the windshield frame. I just bought one for my 2015 Crystal White Mica Club PRHT and had mine painted to match for a more factory, finished look.

Ugh, had me squirming almost the entire time. For one, wet the top after vacuuming. I’d have never sprayed that cleaner directly on a dry roof and started scrubbing, I don’t care what the directions say or how soft the brush is.

Awesome video. Doing my 06 today. Oddly only one is faded. The others new perfect. I’m thinking they swapped it out at some point and only one is original. But she’s an old bird 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
